El Rosal — Restaurant in Barnesville

They weren't busy at all when we went, maybe 4-5 tables total at the time. Food was decent, I'd say it's probably the best mexican Barnesville has to offer. I can tell the staff is fairly young, they're nice & hospitable, but you can tell they're newer to the service world. The one real negative I would say is that their printer wasn't working for the receipts and, while it's not really their fault, we continued to sit for 30-45 minutes waiting for our cards back. They continued cashing people out while leaving us to sit with no updates or anything. At some point either give the patron the option to pay cash (and maybe even a discount for inconvenience) or just eat the cost (if they don't have any cash on them) and let them go.There's no reason to leave a table sitting for that long just waiting on you to give their cards back. My husband ended up going up there & asking for our cards & just throwing cash down, but it would've been better business to communicate with the guests. REVIEW FROM KBN-TV RESTAURANT GUIDE

Over the last 20 years, we've reviewed many restaurants between Atlanta and Macon here at the tv station. Usually, 99 out of 100 times it's a good experience. This is one of the few in 20 years that isn't that way.

The meal that was ordered for review included an enchilada and a chili relleno. The enchilada was less than 1/8" thick... definitely not what you'd find at most any other Mexican restaurant; there was virtually nothing there but a shell and a thin layer of ground beef.

The chili relleno came out about five minutes later. It was not a chili relleno. It was a small ball of ground beef encapsulated in a thin layer of cheese. No pepper. We dissected it, looking in vain for any sign of an actual chili relleno pepper. After totally taking it apart, we found... well... three tiny pieces of some kind of green pepper inside. They gave us that dirty water… I didn’t realize it until I opened my daughters cup to pour it out. The food was nasty and overly salted, and they accidentally switched two table orders… they tried to give the order to the man that was already ate out of. Then my waitress took my order and didn’t come back to the table… she started serving another table. I’ve been there three times and it’s always been a hit or miss. I won’t be going again.
