I’m all about a good thrift shop, and I don’t expect things to be pristine, but this has got to be one of the grossest feeling places I’ve ever visited. It is not climate controlled, which I understand, but there seemed to be “popcorn” dust falling from ceiling. That indicates a leak or at least a big moisture problem. It is a very large warehouse. The main room has shelving, tables and a few display cases, and the items are fairly well displayed without crowding. The day I was there (02/15/24), what I saw were some new items with boxes/tags but mostly your typical yard sale items, everything from old kitchen appliances, dishes, housewares, and clothing, to even crafting items. Some items have tags, some don’t. I’m guessing they go & buy leftovers from area garage sales to put out??? Based on some tags I saw, I passed over a lot of items because I thought them too expensive. I found out later that the gentleman at the counter just makes up a price when you go to pay. So for the 1 item I picked up, he told me half the price of the sticker. Wish I’d known and I would’ve picked up several other kitchen knick knacks. The other section/wing of the warehouse was by far the worst. Water was standing on the concrete floor all down the corridor and in the side rooms. This is a major hazard for a number of reasons but specifically for mold/mildew growth. The water is obviously from substantial roof leakage, as there was water filling bowls & dishes on the tables, items that were wet to the touch, and ruined wood furniture just standing in large puddles. I visited based on good previous reviews and some photos that made this place seem nice. On this day, that is the total opposite of what I found. I’ve posted new photos for your...
Read moreIt’s definitely interesting. Part of it was very old the items the building everything. Things smelled bad and there was no lighting. Kinda felt like I was in a horror movie and got startled when I saw someone else cuz I felt I was in an abandoned building but the other half was more pleasant. Lighting to see somewhat fresh paint and different rooms for “stores” I didn’t buy anything but they do have a lot of different things and it’s fun to go back in,time if u will ,with some of the stuff (dust and all). The building is the old carters building and that’s kinda cool. I was also told they are trying to get the word out and make it better so hopefully they can get some new vendors in and liven the place up a little more. But overall a...
Read moreI found this place, looking for thrift stores. Housed in an old textile factory, it has a wide assortment of items in the thrift store. Books, clothing, house wares, etc. It also has stalls for rent for antique shops. The building is an interesting adventure in it self to explore, probably well over a hundred years old, by the fixtures and hard ware in places. Multiple floors if meandering stair wells, peeling paint, and old...
