I absolutey love Chinese food and since this is the only one in Barnesville, I frequent it quite often. Typically the staff/owner's are cordial, however today was different. I pull up and go inside and give a cheerful hello to the lady behind the counter and the other one wiping off tables. No one spoke except to say dine in or carryout. I say carryout and grab a styrofoam to go container. The lady behind the counter says 5 minutes, and I notice they're still bringing food out to the buffet. I grab a sit and wait patiently. A few moments later a family of 3 come inside and they're greeted enthusiastically and asked what they wanted to drink. They give their drink orders and begin fixing their plates at the buffet. The lady behind the counter looks at me and says you can fix plate now. I'm shocked, astonished and saddened so I just leave and head to another establishment for my lunch. Color may or may not have been a factor however I've been a loyal patron of Great Wall and even tip extra for all my orders. I read a sign in a shop years ago and it's always stuck with me. It read it takes years to get loyal customers and seconds to lose one. The family saw me sitting waiting patiently and even looked at the lady like did we just cut the line? Customer service is a lost art in business these days and on a matter of principle I would rather drive 30 minutes out of my way than to be treated like I am not valued. The food is pretty decent but the customer service needs some work. Yeah, I'm butt hurt over the whole situation but my best way to protest this type of behavior is to not open my wallet to businesses that operate in this...
Read moreFirst things first, if you're a Gordon Student you can get a discount if you show your Gordon ID! Secondly, I have to say this restaurant changed drastically in quality (in a good way) after they moved to their current location. They are cleaner in pretty much every aspect, they have a much bigger selection (probably brought on by a Sushi place being nearby nowadays), and I would say their food quality has even increased (as much as a buffet place can anyway). Can't afford the Sushi at Toki? Come here, they have something like 4 different Sushi rolls that I find to be comparable to the more basic rolls Toki has to offer. The only issue I have with this location is that given the extra space for customers it can get very crowded where all the food is located and you might end up standing around for a couple minutes just to get a scoop of lo mein (if that's your thing). Also, it's worth noting there a couple kid friendly (picky eater) options like chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, and mac & cheese, all of which I would say haven't exactly been perfected, but the option is nice! My recommended must try from here is a Chinese Donut they...
Read moreI come here every time we are in Barnesville for lunch. I haven't eaten their evening buffet or straight from the menu only the lunch buffet. Every time it has been with a Friendly staff, clean place, good food at a fair price. This is a small restaurant with a limited buffet. As with most Chinese buffets they have certain favorites they keep on bar and since each item is prepared fresh flavor is subject to how the chef is feeling and who the chef is for the day. It is kept fresh and well stocked. Today everything was amazingly good. I have been in here when some items were ok while others weren't so good. I have never left unhappy with my meal though. Since the consistency has varied I sample a bit if everything and go back for my favorites which have been different almost every time. It's a great small quiet place to enjoy a meal while shopping in this quaint...
