If I could give 100 stars, I would. We hosted a private party here because this is the bride’s favorite pizza. I can’t tell you how many times I called with questions and manager Danny and his gang always made me feel I was no bother and had prompt, courteous responses each time. They were very accommodating to ALL my requests. When there was a scheduling glitch and they asked me to bump up my time by 30 minutes, Danny made sure he made it worth my while.
While there I was immediately greeted to go over the menu for one final check. The staff was prompt in timing the food. Anything we needed, it was brought out immediately. They allowed us to bring in cupcakes from Smallcakes bakery across the way (just note, Georgio’s is a nut-free restaurant, not a bad thing, just letting you know if you want to bring in baked goods from a local establishment).
The food. Oh my goodness, the food. I’ve been to Georgio’s too many times to count, both the S Barrington location and Crystal Lake. This was by far the best it ever tasted. And it’s pretty hard to top perfection! For 30 people in the party room, we ordered dough nuggets, chopped salad, pizzas both deep and thin, bow tie pasta with broccoli, and Mt St Georgio’s cookie skillets. I literally almost wept as I took each bite, it was that fist-pounding good. The party package was so worth the money because we actually had a fair amount of food left over which we were allowed box and take home. Best deal I’ve ever come across in all my years of party planning at various restaurants across Illinois. I added the pasta with broccoli as a separate tray to the party package. Let me tell you something, if you’ve never considered it before, I insist you get it. Now, I’m Italian. I know food. This was the best pasta with broccoli I have ever had in my life. In my life people.
The TV in the room was perfect for hooking up our laptop to play a slide show of pictures of the couple.
I would host another party here in a heartbeat. I would recommend this party room, the food, and service to anyone I know. I have high standards when it comes to food and customer service. Georgio’s exceeded all of my expectations. Run, don’t walk here for your next party. Just don’t book it on a day I want to return with a group. 😁 outstanding...
Read moreWe have been a repeat customer of this place. Usually, we have had considerable experience, but this time I would say I was a bit disappointed with the service and quality.
Let me tell you top things I felt that were not so great this last visit as a customer for me.
After we were seated, it took a while for the server to come. It is okay understandable that it was busy, but when brought drinks, things were mixed up, and both the beers were not chilled on 1st round. After telling server 2nd round of beers were the same, then finally, I had to ask another server to give us a cold glass.
When appetizers came, we ask for jalapeños and crushed red pepper, but guess what? They never came, not even at the time of pizza. Can you believe it?
Now we ordered two deep-dish and one thin crust, but after midway thru eating our dinner, we realized we never got the thin crust, and instead, they gave us all three deep-dish pizza, which was way too much for nine people. Thre large deep-dish is too much. After we realized we got wrong pizza ut was too late to.even say anything to him as it would have sounded that we only told him after we were done eating, so we never said anything to him as he took a long time to bring things back to us at our table.
We waited 15 min or more for the server to come back. He wasn't coming back to our table, so then I got tired and had to go inside at the front desk and tell someone I need a check as I am getting late, yet it took him an additional 10 to 15 min after that for him to bring it to us. Most of my people already left the table, and I just sat to pay for it.
Now I know its not entirely his fault as he was given too many tables to handle, or he could have been new. I am just disappointed with the quality of service, yet we have him 18% tip as we were ten people. Well, hopefully if we decide to go back, our experience would be better than this last visit.
Thank you
Updating my review to 4 star after another last weekend. I would say there were no issues this time and service was good along with...
Read moreEveryone has an opinion on pizza, and the locals in Chicagoland have theirs on the deep dish. I'm not from Chicago, but I've had Lou Malnati's, Gino's East, Giordano's, and some local places--in addition to Georgio's on a recommendation from someone who lives in South Barrington. Since I first had Lou Malnati's, the point was settled...until I had Georgio's.
Don't get me wrong, the choice wasn't easy, but Georgio's has all the great features that make up an amazing deep dish that include a great crust (like a cross between Lou's and Gino's East--not as hard as Lou's and not as soft as Gino's East) and delicious sauce (a bit more seasoning than Lou's). I absolutely LOVE Georgio's pizza!
On one visit, a friend decided to order some French fries, and I mocked him for ordering fries because they would take up valuable room in his stomach where pizza belongs, but he ordered them anyways. Well, I decided to try a couple, and not only could I not stop eating them, but I ordered my own. So, the one thing I want to recommend to you, which is honestly my absolute favorite food now, is the Parmesan Truffle fries. I am not kidding. There are a few foods in this life that have changed me, and these French fries are one of them. Definitely order the pizza, but make sure to add an order of these fries.
Finally, I want to make a quick note for the management: Please add larger sizes to your carry out pizzas. I'll be there in July, and I'd love to take some large pizzas home with...
