After biking 20 miles on the East Providence path ๐ด โ , I was running on fumes and family vibes. My wife, in-laws, 9-month-old daughter and I searched for nearby food, stumbled upon Tong D Restaurant, and wow what a find!
The decor is absolutely stunning think serene garden meets modern elegance. ๐ฟ Cascading floral arrangements hang like chandeliers, the artwork is tasteful and calming, and fresh flowers on every table add a bright, cheerful touch. It's the kind of place that instantly slows your heart rate.
Service? Truly top-notch ๐. The staff was kind, attentive, and even played peekaboo with our baby (who was all smiles). They also offered to take photos for us such a thoughtful gesture that made our visit feel extra special ๐ธ.
We all ordered from the Lunch Special Menu, which felt like a mini tasting adventure. From the fresh house salads with Miso and Japanese-Sesame dressings ๐ฅ, to the cozy Tofu Coconut and bold Chicken Tom Yum soups ๐ฒ, every bite was beautiful and flavorful. The appetizers crispy spring rolls, steamed pork gyoza, and edamame were served in style on handwoven trays. Major presentation points!
I had the Beef Pad Thai and it was hands-down one of the best I ve had perfect texture, flavor, and balance. My wife and in-laws loved their chicken and veggie dishes too.
Tong D completely exceeded expectations. Great food, amazing ambiance, and a family-friendly atmosphere that made us feel right at home. Highly recommend if you're anywhere near...
ย ย ย Read moreI gave two stars for the friendly staff. The food here is horrendous. We were the only table at 7:30 on the night we dined here. The food was out 4 minutes after we ordered. I almost sent it back but it isnโt my thing to do . The food was obviously left overs or frozen that had been microwaved. The Pad Thai was slimy and the chicken was chewy and tough. The rice was dry . I was so disappointed in everything. The water they poured had a very strange taste and my dining companion and I werenโt able to take even a small sip with out feeling Iill from the taste and smell. The staff is friendly but the night we were there, an elderly woman sat in the dining room shouting orders to the staff in her native language and she watched every move we made while trying to eat. It was very uncomfortable. I wonโt be returning or recommending Tog-D to anyone. We often have The Boss Thai food that is located nearby and are never...
ย ย ย Read moreIโve had takeout here so many times, finally made it in for a sit-down dinner. Man, was it worth it.
The staff make you feel welcome, the entire place is alive with activity. The front of the shop has the cutest little market with a small selection of gifts and to-go deserts and beverages.
The food was fantastic (per usual), but what was NOT typical was my selection of entree. Both of us tried the Khao Soi, a northern Thai dish. One with duck and one with tofu. The coconut curry was flavorful and unique, with perfectly textured egg noodles and crispy fired noodles on top for a riot of texture.
The portions are generous, but could not deter us from the dessert menu. We had to try the banana spring rolls (have never dared for delivery) and they were the perfect treat to...
