I'm confused, as usual, as to how places like this have any rating above 1-star.
The food is absolute garbage. It's weird that they have an area labeled "the pit" seeing as how very few items on the menu are 'fresh.' especially the sliced turkey and chicken--these are essentially Walmart sliced turkey from the deli, slightly heated with flavorless ketchup haphazardly thrown across it.
Sausage is like meat paste pretending to be a higher social class than it is.
'Baked Potatoes' are undercooked. They don't have real butter, because why put forth any effort whatsoever?
A serving of sliced brisket is exactly 2 slices. That's alright though, because it's only a paltry $4/sliver--which is only slightly less than I pay for gold.
I'm not sure what the qualifications are to be selected as wait staff at this location, but I'd bet my last dollar that there isn't a drug test involved.
The bright side is that the place has been around since 1982. How? Because it's Bartlesville. It's not like there's a thriving free market here.
Yes, the yokals will flock to defend their favorite 'eatery.' But it's kind of like that uncle you have who's addicted to Percocet and has been in and out of prison your whole life--but your grandmother still swears he's misunderstood.
$60 for 2 adults and a child is still a cheap way to teach my son to lower his expectations.
Thanks for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I came to Bartlesville for a Love Worth Fighting For event at First Baptist Church. We got there early enough that we decided to go sit down somewhere and have a nice meal. I used my smartphone to find a place to eat and we decided to try Dink's just a mile or two up the road from where we were. When I parked the truck and got out the aroma outside was great. That is usually a good sign for a bbq restaurant. Unfortunately that was the highlight of the visit to Dink's. The service I rate as ok. Not bad service but definitely not great. Not one offer to refill my tea either before or after the order was delivered. The food was fair but again not great. The sauce was runny and lacked any great flavor. A really good BBQ restaurant will have several choices of sauce from spicy to mild. This was like going into a mexican restaurant and only having one salsa to choose from.
I live in Wichita and the two local chains here of Hog Wild or Two Brothers BBQ beat Dink's hands down. If either of those two chains set up in Bartlesville, Dink's days in business will be numbered. It is not good when a chain restaurant can beat a locally owned one. The local Wichita BBQ of Pig In Pig Out blows Dink's away. Fortunately for Dink's, Pig In Pig Out is a local business and is family...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAte at Dink's last night and I have to say last night will be the very last time I will eat there! The food was delivered to our table cold, not lukewarm but cold, very cold, as if it was just taken out of the refrigerator. This is the second time my food came from the kitchen cold which is quite worrisome and is also a health and safety issue. After having our food returned to the kitchen and finally receiving hot food, one taste was all I could handle. The (fake) liquid smoke taste was so overwhelming that I could not take a second bite, nor could I eat anything else on my plate due to the lingering taste and smell of fake smoke that was permeating my nose and mouth. I am certain the staff is no longer utilizing the large smoker located behind the restaurant as the meats had obviously not been smoked. Our waitress was very friendly and apologetic, but no amount of kind words can make up for a $20 plate of food that was inedible. What a horrible position to put your way staff in as I am confident they get tired off the complaints. I have eaten at Dink's for the past 18 years. I am not certain what has happened, but I doubt this business will be around much longer unless they clean...
