Taco Mayo — Restaurant in Bartlesville

Taco Mayo in Bartlesville used to be our go-to for fast food Mexican because of my love for their taco burgers. Admittedly it has been a while but we needed to kill some time and we were close so we stopped in. We put in our order of a taco burger deal plus a small queso and a taco burrito deal plus a small queso. We got our drinks and sat down. Pretty soon the food was brought minus one order of potato locos, we were told they would be right out. Ok no problem 15 minutes later they still haven't brought them or made mention so I went to the register to ask about them only to see the same kid who brought our order out eating potato locos out from under the heat lamp. While this person had gloves on that is still completely unacceptable. Anyhow when I asked about the rest of our order she scooped up what was left of the lukewarm ones she was eating from under the light and handed them to me so I took them back to the table gathered up our trash and left. If you are looking for fast service during the pandemic you might want a sanity check. Nearly every dining establishment is struggling with staff.

The dining room has been closed for some time. For a guy who rides a motorcycle most days this is not convenient. Picnic tables could be added to the empty parking lot if the dining room is closed.

They tend to be a bit shy on the ratio of meat/cheese to lettuce on their tacos. The sauces are OK but tend to have way more chili powder than needed and less focus on cilantro/lime/

When the dining room was open they had the really nice touch of a multi-beverage dispenser. You can get just about any drink you like. If you are a germaphobe. . probably not the place for you. The building is a bit dated and with most fast food places focus is on profit not presentation. In short. . if you are hungry and on a budget you can get a meal at a decent price. They make their own flour tortillas and they're tasty. The burrito is a good side and their potato locos are really good. The restaurant and bathroom was clean. Plus, staff was friendly and accommodating. The only downside for me to visiting this restaurant is that there are often a lot of homeless people or stragglers hanging around the place.
