Segoku Batesville — Restaurant in Batesville

I stopped here with my mom during a visit to Batesville. The staff were friendly and helpful, extremely polite and welcoming. We tried the Hibachi Steak and Shrimp dinner and the rice is some of the best rice we’ve ever had. The rice is cooked with a special sauce and it has eggs in it too. The sauce used for hibachi is delicious and not overpowering. I got sweet tea which was not too sweet and slightly watery tasting, but it was perfect that way. I tried the eel roll too and it was very fresh and had a little crunchiness to it, everything smelled great and the decor of the place was very interesting and fun - kids would probably enjoy the hanging art with ninjas and samurai on the wall. This is a great place to go if you love sushi and hibachi, they have a lot of special rolls to try. It is a smaller place but definitely worth a visit. To be honest my husband and I stumbled on Segoku by accident, the restaurant was quaint, the staff was very friendly, but the food was absolutely delicious. My husband had the steak hibachi with a tuna roll and I had the steak and shrimp hibachi. I had the salad with mine and I’ve got to say that they make the best ginger dressing I think I’ve ever had. Decided to try this place out. Wish we hadn't. They messed up our takeout order and we had to go back. Not a huge deal. Just inconvenient. The quality of the sushi rolls was pretty awful.

The sushi rolls containing raw fish had a overpowering fishy taste. I've eaten sushi all over the place amd never experienced this before. It was just plain gross. The cooked rolls tasted just ok. But the tempura shrimp still had shell on in nearly every single piece.
