The Toros Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Batesville

Today started off horribly with the starter going out in my car, so I certainly did not expect the quick meal we stopped by to grab while waiting for the shop to get one in to rock my world. But it DID! This was the best Mexican food experience I’ve ever had and NO, I was influenced by a margarita 😂! The server was attentive even though he seemed to be by himself (it was around 2:30 on a Monday, a pretty dead time in the industry) and event though he had several tables, we never went without! I got the lunch combo of create your own and got two taco (ground beef supreme) and it comes with rice and beans for $9.99. My plate was the first picture shown. After the hot, fresh chips with salsa and cheese sauce, I was only able to eat one taco! So I have a whole other meal! My daughter got the cheese quesadilla meal with rice and beans. Josh got the special, Burrito Loco for $8.50. Our family got flan to share as a dessert. We all got cokes because they have that crisp, spicy Coke that McDonald’s used to have. We have been eating at Toros for several years. The service is always friendly and attentive. The restaurant is usually clean and well maintained. The manager knows us by name and greets customers often. The chips and salsa are well-salted and cooked. Toros does charge for quest dip or for an additional side of spicier salsa. The salsa itself is more of a chunky, natural-looking salsa that feels more like Pico. The lunch menu is the hot ticket item here, as you can get large portions for 7-9 dollars. Haven't been there in awhile. Guess I'll now be more frequent, again. Taste-filled! Each bite was more satisfying than the previous. Generous portions provided ample time for visiting with dining companions & leftovers for a late night snack or lunch the next day! Service staff were prompt, professional, attentive & yet, not intrusive. Service staff were adept at anticipating needs & providing solutions before a need arose. Drinks filled, condiments provided, chips/salsa (exquisite!) kept full & of course extra napkins!
