The food was good, but the service was not. Our server didn't seem very personable. She didn't bother to offer to bring us any biscuits and muffins before our meal. We had to ask. When she did bring bread, she brought only biscuits and butter, no cornbread, but didn't bother to ask us if we wanted any type of jelly or honey. We had to ask for that, too. I ordered the meatloaf dinner. My partner had the shrimp dinner. When we got our meals, she didn't ask if we needed any condiments or extra sauces. I had to ask for ketchup. We had to ask for extra napkins. We had to ask for to-go boxes. She didn't offer us any of those things, she just asked if we were ok. She didn't even check to see whether we needed more to drink. I asked another employee whether our server was new. She said she'd worked there for some years. The only excuse I can think of for her behavior is that she might have been having a bad day. But that's no reason to make anyone else have a bad experience. I must say that it was not the most pleasant service experience. On the plus side, we enjoyed the fact that the food was not heavily salted. In fact, it leaned more toward salt to taste which, in my opinion, is a good thing. Finally, the temperature of the food was mixed. The shrimp and fried okra were hot and fresh (I'm pretty sure that's because they are cooked to order) and the mashed potatoes, dumplings, fried apples, and meatloaf were just warm enough to eat, but the hash brown casserole was nowhere near warm. All in all the visit was just ok because of the poor service and food temps. Thanks for the tasty food, but you can do better, Cracker Barrel. I know you can.

Average at best… what used to be a warm quaint country restaurant has turned into an overcrowded loud restaurant with average food and service. I haven’t been in a while and decided to go for my old favorite… Mama’s pancake breakfast. It started with trying to maneuver through the over stuffed shelves and small walkways in the front retail area. I was seated and brought flat ware in a brown paper bag… the fork & knife were both not clean, so I requested another set. I ordered coffee “black”… which came with a saucer full of creamer and a spoon already placed in the coffee. Given the first set of flat ware was dirty, I was not too pleased with this presentation. I ordered the breakfast, which came out very promptly. Mama’s breakfast was not as I remembered. The eggs and sausage were over cooked. The pancakes were heavy & dry with a dollop of frozen butter on top. The server was ok, but seemed hurried. I never saw her again after she took my order and I was never offered a refill on my coffee. Cracker Barrel seems more interested in selling rocking chairs, gifts and gadgets than focusing on quality and service which made them a success in the past.

Today was the worst experience we have had at a Cracker Barrel in a long time. It was very busy as expected at lunch time on a Sunday. We were told to expect a 30 minute wait, but were called to be seated in just 14 minutes, so that was great. The table was very sticky with syrup. Our server Carol wiped off our table and quickly brought our drinks and took our order. We waited over 40 minutes for our food to arrive in which time our server did not return to the table to refill my coffee. When the food did arrive everything was cold - not warm - actually cold. My over medium eggs were barely cooked, and so was the bacon. I still left a 20% tip (my minimum for table service restaurants) because it's hard to say if the server or the kitchen was to blame, but I'm thinking it was our server. We will be back, but not any time soon. Very disappointing. Not Recommended.

I order from your Baton Rouge location often because its convenient to where my office is located. I have never had a bad experience with your store until today. My order was ready to be picked up about 9:20a. However since I was at my office, I was unable to pull away at that time. But I figured no biggie, I know my food will be cold, but it's all good because this is on me. I get there to pick it up at 10:50a. I checked in through the app. No one ever came out. So I checked in again. And again I sat for 10 minutes. All of which is still not a big deal, because I'm late and I know that this location gets pretty busy. So I go inside to get my food. I was met by the most rude elderly white woman that I have EVER had the displeasure of meeting in all my years of being alive. I expressed to her that I tried checking in outside but no one ever came, so that's why I'm now inside. She immediately responds well maybe it's not ready yet. I mean we ARE busy. I said, Yes ma'am, I understand. I was supposed to pick it up for 9:20a. She again answers in a rude tone as if I'm inconveniencing her. At this point I'm confused. Why am I getting attitude, I'm only telling why I'm here. I'm not belligerent, or upset, or anything. So she goes to check on the order in the kitchen. She comes back and says, they are bagging it, because it sat so long that they had to throw it away, so they remade it as a courtesy to you because we don't normally do that. So you're essentially getting two meals. I said, no ma'am I'll still be getting the one meal, but I understand, no problem. She goes on to say, well the company is taking a loss because they're basically giving you something for nothing and I'm looking at her like ok, you can stop talking now. I'm getting something for SOMETHING because I believe I paid for it. This woman did not stop talking and behaved as though this food was coming out of her check. Or like she was directly affected by my tardiness. I have never experienced anything like this before. I know you all will not speak to her about it. You'll most likely look past this because she's elderly and probably been there for a while. I'm sure she's loved and all that. But she needs to understand that she should never speak to your guests that way. If it were not for your customers, then there would be no Cracker Barrel. I work very hard for the money I spend with this company and could have easily gone somewhere else, but I like your store and again, I've never had any issues here, the staff normally is very polite, as am I. This woman almost brought me out of my character. She was just that rude and unfriendly. And sadly if she isn't counseled or spoken to about this, You all will have lost a...

This store needs a revamp or something. More than half the time I order, they don’t have what I’m trying to order, and they don’t try to call you to see if you want anything different, they wait until you drive all the way up there, to tell you. And you’d think the online ordering app would tell you that they don’t have an item but it doesn’t do that either, or maybe it does and the store just doesn’t update it like they should. The other half of the time, they give me multiple wrong things in my order. It’s a good thing I’ve learned to always check my food because if not, I wouldn’t get half of my order and the other half would be stuff I didn’t order. The girl who does ToGos on the weekends, is rude as can be. Just this Sunday, the people who work the check out counter, had to call her 4 times before she even came and spoke with me, that was after I waited almost 20 minutes for her to come up there and she didn’t. When they don’t have the items you want, or they mess up your order, they do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to try and make up for it. They don’t offer to give you anything, or take some money off, nothing. Actually, they’re more rude to you if anything because of their mess ups. Whenever I went this past Sunday, they had another guy picking up a ToGo order and she made him wait about 20 minutes before she came out to speak to him about an item they didn’t have. Then when she came out, she couldn’t offer any type of solution and said “I don’t know” and walked away. So he stood there for another 5-10 minutes, I guess thinking she was coming back, and she never came back, so he left because the food he ordered was sitting there getting cold, and he had family at home waiting to eat. He didn’t get his refund for the food he didn’t get, or anything. That’s really horrible customer service. Just in the time I stood there waiting for the girl to come talk to me about the wrong item she put in my bag, then to come back and tell me she didn’t have half of what I ordered, I stood there for over an hour. My food was cold by the time I got home. This store needs some major...

We usually love Cracker Barrel. We eat there pretty often for breakfast. But today I was not happy with them at all. We get there and I put our name on the list. The hostess tells me there is a 10 minute wait. Well I was happy about that because usually we wait a lot longer for a table. So we went look around the store. After a 15 minute wait my name was called. I was surprised but excited that our wait for a table was that short. Especially on a Saturday morning. But that's where our happiness ended. We waited and waited for our server to at least come greet us and get our drink order. Like they always do. But nope. That didn't happen. After around 10 minutes a server went and waited on a couple a few tables down from us that was seated about 5 minutes AFTER us. And before you say we probably weren't in her section, she then went 2 tables over and gave that table their ticket. And yes in the same section we were in. So I started to look around and I caught the eye of who looked to be a manager. He asked me if we had been waited on. I shook my head no. So he went to the kitchen and came back out. Which I assume he went to let our server know we wanted to order. Another 5 minutes went by and still nothing. So my husband and I were frustrated, and hungry, so we got up and left. I told the manager as I walked by that we were done waiting. That we had been waiting 15 minutes and no service. I got no response from him. But it's the server's loss because we ALWAYS tip well. At least 25% or more. Plus I was ready to eat and then go spend money in the store. I saw Christmas decorations, gifts, clothes that I was planning on buying. But I left it all there . I really hope that this is a one time thing and Cracker Barrels service hasn't gone down like a lot of other places because we enjoy eating breakfast there. And I love shopping for unique items...
