Costco trip for random stuff! #fyp #costco #groceryshopping #batonrougelouisiana #batonrouge

I left Costco. I plan to send out a letter, totaling up to my local store becoming more and more digitized and less human beings working on the floor. It's starting to remind me of Walmart (you should not have to play hide and go seek to find an employee). Scan my card at the front door? There are people there. At least give them a hand scanner. Now you have people chasing you because you don't engage with another piece of machinery. Who wants to be policed? I go to a checkout person and they're telling me to put all of my stuff on the conveyor belt when before they had two employees per line, you gave them your card, and they took care of it (and they asked you if you wanted a box or 3); there's a reason I do not use self checkout. Food court? Kiosk = another machine. I'm listening to workers complaining at checkout about staffing. They don't talk to the customer, but they talk with each other, and customers are lifting, listening, and paying. Instead of replacing workers with machines, I would prefer they put workers on the floor to pick up these huge boxes and continue the norm of having two people at checkout to complete orders. Getting stopped at the front door *and* the exit after doing heavy lifting all over a warehouse the size of a stadium floor is no longer an ideal shopping experience, not one I want to pay extra for. It's no longer worth the membership fee.

Update: As no one from Costco seems overly concerned about their not honoring my tire warranty, I'm thinking a little more clarity is needed. The Tire Department manager is quite young, and exceptionally arrogant. Often borderline rude. As such several older tire dept people have moved elsewhere. To have him flat out refuse my warranty (without documentation backing his refusal) and even low key stage whisper "f.....g boomer" just loud enough for me to hear was quite something. And going so far as to tell his manager in front of a customer "I don't care, I'm not doing it". With little to no respect for her in his voice. And the manager backing him. This was 4 months ago and no one at Costco seems concerned enough to return my attempted contact. Which is embarrassing to me because until this occurred I would actually tell people they should ditch others and go to Costco. Turns out (just like with others) customers are just a number. And just to let everyone know, this is the Costco I started my initial membership with, back when they opened...

Aug 2, 2025 1.A/C off. How do you expect produce nit to rot from inside or customers to breath comfortably? Excuse: A/C down... Been returning produce retton on inside like apples. Don't mop floors with chmicaks when custoners are there.

Today Friday 11/15/2024

Today took the cake, I was using my card and on the short edge of the checkout, my wife was loading up her cat. An employee came and shoved himself too close to her and started counting dollar bills. My wife could not reach for her stuff and he is too busy to notice what he did. I asked to kindly move over to the side because my wife could not reach for her stuff anymore. He looked at me thinking that I am asking him to help move the stuff. Costco is not cheap and employees are not paid minimum wage. Management should take customers complaint seriously, Management should stress insist employees on checkout need to have their area clean and dry and show courtesy to customers. Do not give the BS excuse, they were lots of customers checking out and no time to wipe the belt....Piss poor excuse. Management should explain to employees personal space. Do not shove yourself next to a customer busing loading up her cart. It is only getting less and less enjoyable shopping at Costco's. I wonder if this is only in Baton Rouge and not this is this the trend at all Costco stores. You give us your money and we will give you disrespect.

Today07/23/2024 I had to throw the green lettuce away. Not the first time when I soak the lettuce in water, lots of tiny gnats in them. Does COSTCO notify the producer?

the banana you buy is for quick consumption only. If you buy green, by the time they are ready to eat, they are rotten after you peel them.

COSTCO used to be better. Now it is like other huge stores.

why produce like cucumber and tomatoes and others are not kept in cold places?

the saga continues.

Today 6/21/2023 Today 91 degrees with heat index of 101 and some parts in Costco, hot air is blowing. Why? Not a clue.

5/21/2021

Again, AC is not running. Air is blowing. Only places that are cooled are where some of the produce and dairy and eggs are kept - 2 places-

Makes a lot of money but act cheap.

Today June 27, 2020

Why is the A/C off? For poeple are wearing masks, too difficult to breeath.

That mask wearing being a requirement to get in is a load of crap. People wear masks to get inside, then lots of people doing their shopping without wearing masks. Where are those who should be enforcing that policy? Yo are contributing to the spread of Corona inside the store and endangering the public health. DO SOMETHINGING

Today 11/19/2019

One star rating remains.

My wife and I went shopping. We had the cart full, but someone in his infinite wisdom decided to turn the heater on inside. We had to leave the store, it was difficult to breeze.

Here is the dilemma:

In the summer, most of the time the A/C is off just ceiling fans running. Too darn warm inside.

In the winter, heater is one.

For crying outloud, if you want to make the money, make sure the cusomers are comfortable roaming the isles.

I would be happy if I heard from one of the managers.

Thank you

Why does it say on the website that it is open today from 10-8 when it is Memorial Day?

Some stores were opened today though it was M-D!

Drove there only to see an empty parking lot.

On another note: Clean place, good customer service, good quality, and price.

On another note, when the temp outside the store is 34, why is the heater truned on to high inside the store? This is how peope get sick. May be they should tru those big hanging ceiling fan only. Too warm inside and too cold outside. We went there once, 2 ft inside and we left the store. Air so dry and warm, we could not breath.

In this hot killer weather of August 2019, turn the darn A/C on . Running those roof fans does not cut it. You make lots of monet,...

As a visitor from Texas and a first time shopper at Costco (I was a guest with my aunt who has a membership) I did not appreciate how we were spoken to.

Given it was a Friday (08/04) afternoon and there was a lot of foot traffic, my aunt and I, along with our children, made way to self-checkout, not knowing there was a line 3 register stands away, when this associate started yelling at us - NO! NOPE! GET OUT OF THE WAY, THE LINE IS BACK THERE.

At first, we had no idea who this “man” was talking to because where we chose to initially pay, there was no one. It wasn’t until the man (who had his name tag flipped over where it was not visible) had approached us (two women with small children) and told us in the same fashion as before to leave the register because there was a line.

Strike one.

We apologized to those in line and explained we didn’t know the rules for this particular Costco location. I did ask the man to be kinder when speaking but he was more focused on removing us from the self checkout area. We were in shock on what had transpired and actually contemplated on leaving the cart with the two 3-pound bags and few clothing items we wanted to purchase but my aunt convinced me to just brush it off.

We then went to a cashier whom we saw was being trained. Tommy, the cashier was great! His trainer, Regina - needs a refresher on customer service. She acted so unprofessional and was quick to get defensive when asked if we could get 3 different receipts. She proceeded to point her finger in my face saying I “shouldn’t even be here because you don’t have a membership” which irritated me because of how in the span of a minute and a half, two associates felt it was necessary to be nasty towards us.

Strike two.

I asked to speak to a supervisor because of the mistreatment we were receiving back-to-back. Ms. Keisha was who responded and honestly, her calmness and approach was what diffused the situation from escalating to a screaming match between Regina and myself. We asked if it was possible to have 3 different receipts for the materials that was being purchased with 3 different cards, she kindly explained the rules in less than 45 seconds. I thanked her for her compassion and seeing us as human beings, not just as customers. My aunt told her she barely shops at Costco and only got the membership for my cousin to be added as her household but that it quickly reminded her why she barely shops there.

The store itself was great. The customer service received by those two associates left a bad taste in my mouth which is why I’m rating it 1 star. I don’t raise my voice at my own children and to have them witness their mother get yelled at by two strangers, that doesn’t sit well. My respects to Ms. Keisha and Tommy for keeping it classy, professional and patient with my children.

Needless to say, we will not be going back to Costco simply for this reason. No need to see what Strike Three will look like. My aunt will not be renewing her membership in...
