D.P. Dough — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

I tried it for the first time and was amazed. The calzones were delicious, the dough was chewy, and the garlic butter was homemade. However, since then, every experience has gone downhill, particularly the customer service.

My card was charged a fee that did not represent the total order. I called 7 times that night. The first three times, there was no answer, just 16 minutes of elevator music and call being ended (16mins each time). The four times following, someone picked up and insisted repeatedly that they could not hear me. I called from a different number and received the same insistence that they couldn't hear anything. The final time enraged me, as I asked why they were pretending they couldn't hear me, which was met with immediate chuckles in the background.

My order was on its way 3 hours after ordering but ended up being canceled on DPDough's end after the order was already en route. My refund has still not been processed. I would rate this experience 0 out of 10. I do not recommend this location.

Don't make the mistake of not reading the reviews before you bother wasting your money here LOL thankfully I did not ingest anything but my poor boyfriend loves calzones so he wanted to try. and had so much stomach issues the next day from a mediocre waste of money. The employees also do not understand anything about what you ask for. Not sure if you're supposed to be able to customize or not but it would seem not. He ordered one of the menu items and asked to simply add ricotta cheese to it and they said they already had a mix. I've also never seen a calzone look like this it's kind of un appetizing but bring your own utensil bc you'll see it. If they manage to find one they are super thin and won't work on the heavy blazing hot calzone. It is soft and sloppy not one that you can pick up like other places. Very tiny walk-up spot tables outside are very dirty. My boyfriend's stomach was rolling for over 24 hours making all kinds of audible noises. ZERO stars! for starters, the order was completely wrong after repeating it to us several times.. It was still wrong!
