Roul’s Deli doesn’t do pretense. No sleek branding, no overthought plating, no meticulously curated social media presence.

It doesn’t need any of that. The food here speaks for itself—loud, unapologetic, and very very good.

Founded in 1999 by a man named Roul, this family-run joint has built its reputation on freshness, flavor, and a relentless commitment to excess. His catchphrase? Juicy Juicy. And that’s exactly what you get.

You don’t come here for fine dining. You come here for fried indulgence wrapped in wax paper. For grease-stained brown bags that feel heavier than they should. For the kind of meal that reminds you why butter, cheese, and deep fryers exist in the first place.

And if you’re smart, you go with the Crawfish Eggrolls.

This is what happens when a traditional eggroll takes a hard left turn into Louisiana. No bland cabbage filler here—just plump, spicy crawfish, molten cheese, sautéed onions, bell peppers, and jalapeños, all packed into a golden, crispy shell that shatters on impact. You dip it in sweet chili sauce, because the balance of heat and sugar is what makes Southern food king. It’s rich, over-the-top, and completely addictive. We

This is not some halfhearted novelty dish slapped on the menu for Instagram likes. This is the main event, a full-throttle Louisiana flavor bomb engineered for maximum satisfaction.

Roul’s isn’t here to impress you. It’s here to feed you. And in a world full of overpriced, underwhelming food designed for aesthetics first, that’s a...

Mixed Experience

My recent visit to Roul's Deli was a bit of a mixed bag. While the restaurant had some positive aspects, there were a couple of areas that fell short of expectations. Overall, it was an average experience.

One of the main issues I encountered at Roul's Deli was the longer-than-normal wait time. The service seemed a bit slow, which was a bit frustrating. It took quite some time for our orders to arrive at the table, and it affected the overall dining experience.

When the seafood fry’s finally arrived, it looked quite appealing with its golden-brown color and crispy texture. However, the taste didn't quite match the visual appeal. The seafood fry lacked flavor and didn't live up to my expectations. It was a bit disappointing, especially considering the initial visual impression.

On a more positive note, the staff at Roul's Deli was friendly and accommodating. They were attentive and made efforts to ensure our needs were met during our time there. The atmosphere of the deli was cozy and relaxed, providing a comfortable setting for the meal.

The menu at Roul's Deli offered a decent variety of options, including seafood dishes and other Baton Rouge deli favorites.

If you decide to visit Roul's Deli, I would recommend exploring alternative menu options rather than the seafood...

So I've been eating here for years but with the new staff, I won't be returning. The young guy at the counter isn't hospitable at all. I often try to perk him up or lift his spirit, he's consistently very cold and nonchalant. I even left a tip to lift his spirit, still—same blank stare, dull attitude. He doesn't greet his customers and is not in a good mood day to day. I pray his situation changes for the better.

I ordered a shrimp burger 2 days ago and I have been suffering with a case of food poisoning since then. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this location or likely at all to Roul's as the service and food has both combined left a good taste in my mouth yet a bad result in my body and spirit. Hope to see you improve this location as it's the original...

The first time I ate here I had some seafood fries for $15 and crawfish egg rolls the fries were really good to me the egg rolls were hard . But I went back for the seafood fries and I wanted to try their burgers. I had a bacon cheeseburger it was average and I had to add creole seasoning the seafood fries this time were so nasty crawfish in the fries where hard and cheap and the shrimp were hard also it tasted nothing like the first time I was disappointed will not be returning. Also the soft drink machine was dirty black build up where the ice comes out . So nasty ( the Pic from 2nd time could not find a pic from the first time)
