DO NOT EAT HERE. IF YOU LIKE TO EAT GOOD FOOD, DO NOT EAT HERE. The restaurant will most likely delete this review BUT, with a conscious, I had to write it. Here's our story. It was 8pm, we were traveling, & tired & hungry. We checked the reviews of the Bay City area restaurants & this Bay City Seafood & Steak restaurant had a 4star rating. Why, I don't know. The ONLY 2 good things about the restaurant FOR US were the service & the table was clean. We ordered 20 fried shrimp & 15 fried oysters. We had our choice of salad or slaw...we chose slaw & after one bite we both spit it out because it was FERMENTED. The oysters came out burnt & dripping with grease. Even after bringing these points to their attention, not once did they offer to remake my order or offer for me to choose something else. My husband wanted to just return the food & leave, but I reluctantly talked him out of it because it was too late to go anywhere else. My husband gave me several of his shrimp to eat because I couldn't gag down the oysters. The batter on the shrimp tasted like soap. To make matters even worse, the cocktail sauce AND tartar sauce were just as nasty tasting. We left a big portion of our order and paid the bill. $35.70 for fermented, burnt food. The tartar sauce & cocktail sauce came from a can. Last, the restroom smelled like backed up sewage. As I'm writing this I feel nauseated and feel as if I have a gut-bomb. My husband says that if you don't listen to us, you'll have no one to blame but yourself. Again, the server was sweet & we don't blame her...
Read moreThis placed served us the worst seafood boil we have ever had In our life! Everything looked spoiled and black. Literally black… from sausage to crab clusters, shrimp, mushrooms, even noticed it on the boiled eggs. The crab clusters had hardly any meat in it and the little bit you could see all the way to the end of the cluster was black and disgusting. The shrimp was over cooked or perhaps reboiled from another unsatisfied customer. And the audacity of the person at the register of saying ,”would you like something else, perhaps freshly boiled?” Like really?! Was this a days old seafood or reheated from someone else ?! It smelled weird too. I’m puzzled. Not sure if this placed served us food that was damaged due to the city not having electricity due to the hurricane. But you just lost future customers if that was the case. Because not only will we not eat there ever again. But when friends ask us, “have you been there to eat? How good is it?” We will tell them our experience. Because food gone bad is dangerous but...

I mentioned it to the waitress and yes i did eat 4 of them so I could get my mom dad and everyone to make sure it just wasn't my taste buds. The verdict was unanimous, they were bad. Also the cook or someone that was back there cooking was super sick hocking up mucos and coughing stuff up very loudly. Wasn't real nice to hear when you know there preparing your food and stuff..Ended up getting very sick and going to hospital i called the the place 2-3 times they said they manager wasn't there so I left my number all 3 times and no call back... sad

Have had mixed experiences here, overall it is good. I like there soft shell crab. I have had a few unfortunate situations were I got crawfish that were bad (old or had been dead for a while) boiled and complained only to be told "Oh well...
