We were passing thru Bay City and accidentally ran across this place. It was about 9:30 and we were looking for breakfast. The place was empty and we were seated right away and well tended to by our server who we thoroughly enjoyed talking to. There are many great things on the breakfast menu to choose from, but I chose the hash brown supreme. It was a large serving of hash browns with ham, and sausage and bell peppers and two eggs served on top. It was a very large portion and I was unable to finish it, which is rare. My wife got a plate with two eggs, two pieces of bacon, hashbrowns and she got a side of grits. The only thing I tried off of her plate were the grits, and they were cooked perfectly. When we got ready to leave, we got a piece of lemon meringue pie and a pecan pie to take home. We ate the pies later in the day, and they were amazing. I would go out of my way to swing by just to buy some pie the next time I’m passing through town. There is lots of seating and there is an extra room with even more seating. I spoke to the server about lunch and she said they get very busy and they even have a salad bar. I would imagine that around lunch time you may have a little difficult time finding parking. The lunch menu looks really good and the next time we’re headed back to Houston and pass by in the middle of the day we will stop and try lunch with them. We really enjoyed this stop and look forward to coming...
Read moreI can not brag about this woman and her restaurant enough! A HUGE THANK YOU to the Farmhouse Cafe and Mercantile for hosting our Grinchmas Movie Pajama Party! Jenn was so amazing for letting us rent her restaurant last minute, due to weather conditions.
She was incredibly accommodating when our decor took up space, helped set up and let us move some tables around. Due to being hyped is on friends and sugar, all she did was laugh, when our kiddos got loud rowdy. Talk about being an understanding and kid friendly place. Before we set up our decor, we all couldn't help but to admire how beautiful all of her Christmas Photo Ops were! She certainly has an eye for beauty.
She is such an advocate for the community and their events. The told us about the Winter Wonderland, at First Church, to take our kids after our party finished. She offered to use the money we paid her, for the rental, to pay for each of us to go to the event. I don't know if I'm supposed to say this but since we ran late cleaning up our area, we missed the event. She ended up donating the money to the First Church anyway. Just an...
Read moreFirst time dining here. The burgers were burned and rock hard, served with jalapeno bun which isn't listed on the menu. We asked for different bun due due to allergies but they had to check in the back (walls are thin, you can hear every word in the kitchen, they might want to keep that in mind). Received the food back. They gave the same fries with the same burger on a different bun. The fries were ice cold and bland. We tried to eat it but it was beyond tolerable. We asked for the manager. The presumed manager showed up at our table and did not introduce herself. She had an attitude because we were informing her of the condition and quality of the food. She said "we're human and make mistakes, not everyone is perfect. I can't control what comes out of the kitchen" She offered a club sandwich or something else from the menu or even dessert. But after that statement, we did not feel comfortable trying anything else. She grabbed the food and turned around. She said have a good day. We're not sure if we will give another chance since she cannot control what comes out of...
