I'm so disappointed to say that this is the worst review I think I've had the displeasure of writing . We had spent the day out of the water and when looking up places to have a great burger I saw a review saying that the burger was the best burger someone had, and I thought "sold." Id have been better going to a local bar for bar food, at least then I'd not spend $60 on two meals, a NA slushi, and one appetizer that we couldn't finish because it was so disappointing.
First issue came right when we put in the order. They ask for a tip before you even have the food. They don't have any table service (which in itself isn't an issue, but if you are asking for 20% of 60$ I would expect at least some level of customer service.) It took around 25 mins for us to get the food from the time we ordered which is excessive.
Wild berry lemonade was sub par. It's 99% ice and near flavorless.
Cheese curds were cold and stuck together. Also they are cubes so not curds. Just fried cheese.
I got the whitefish fish and chips. The whitefish was good, but the fries were cold and soggy as if they had been sitting for a while. For me it as the fact that the fries were so soggy that ruined it for me. I am not a fan of cold food in general but to have cold food after waiting nearly a half hour (we had a 3.5 hour drive in front of us so was hoping for decently quick service) was really disappointing.
The burger was ordered to be pink and it was well done instead of medium. It has no pink and was extremely dry. The toppings were ok, but again the fries were soggy, but at least they were warm).
It's been a while since I've been so disappointed in a meal. My partner wanted to go back and request them to return the tip he gave, and we pretty much never complain, so that may give some insight in how disappointed we were.
I hope it's a one off, but the view isn't worth it based on our experience. Hope management can...
Read moreI live in a pretty big city where food is expensive. That food however, is very high quality or large portioned. This place was just expensive for no reason. The portions were small and the seasoning was sparse. The cheese "curds" in particular were a pretty great example of this. $6 worth of square chunks of cheese, in a bland, half cooked batter for $12. Also steer clear of the flatbread. Adding chicken brings this "sharable", topped with five hunks of mozzarella, plain marinara, and some inarguably great fresh basil, that an average person could eat and still be hungry, to $20.
Nobody services you directly. You order and pay at a counter. Then they bring your food out to you. If you need more to eat or drink, you have to go back and wait in line to get to the counter to place your order.
Considering that, there is a 5% "service fee". AND you are prompted to tip. I know 5% isn't much so, sure a tip I guess makes sense. But if you are going to have a service fee, then make it 15 or 18% and don't accept tips. The fact that the actual service is pretty minimal, honestly they shouldnt even expect much of a tip, so a built in higher percent would probably be the play here. Even so, with the menu prices they charge, there is no way they can't pay their employees enough that a tip shouldn't even be necessary.
They had decently priced and quality cocktails though. So get food elsewhere and come...
Read moreI wanted to share the worst experience ever in my opinion of an employee. We had just finished having a beverage on the deck! Which can be a tough spot to get to without an elevator to for older folks. No big deal, but as we came down my wife needed a rest room, and we stopped down up front at the desk to inquire. Now mind you they have a restaurant downstairs also. The man in the sports car cap behind the front desk, looked at my wife in her 60s with a cane, and said, you can go down a few blocks to some outdoor toilet or go back up two flights of stairs to the bathroom and then sneared at her. This is absolutely the worst I have ever been treated and after many years of coming here I will never be back. A woman in her 60s with a cane having a tough time walking and sports car boy tells her to go down the street, can't use ours after spending your money here. I still can't believe it. Worst excuse of a human i have ever encountered, where is your compassion for a handicapped person. I just don't get it, and it was a slow day with hardly...
