We went to Blackbeard's on our first night in Beaufort. It did NOT disappoint, in fact, it was such a good experience that we went back for our last night big dinner. We didn't catch the waitresses name from the first night, but she was there again and remembered us. SO friendly!! The second waitress was Heather, and upon her recommendation of which crab dish to get, I ordered the stuffed crab, and my husband ordered the fried crab, and we got the 2 crab plates so we could share. Y'all. Don't ever buy the frozen stuff from the grocery store ever again, because when you have it made from fresh-caught like this, you'll understand mass produced is not a good product. This is not a cheap chain restaurant, this is a get what you pay for establishment, and is absolutely well worth the price. We have decided this will be our go to restaurant for a delicious fresh seafood dinner. My husband is particular about where he eats oysters at, and he had the garlic parmesan oysters on the half shelf both visits, he enjoyed them that much. First visit we both got the fisherman's fried dinner. The breading was so light...just delicious. Second visit, we had the 4 piece crab rangoon appetizer, 1/2 dozen oysters on the half-shell, 2 piece crab fried dinner, and 2 piece stuffed crab dinner. We'd never had fried crab before, lightly fried breading, just the right amount of crispiness, and HOW FUN! (Sorry I forgot to get photos of those) The stuffed crab is roll your eyes in your head good...best way to say it....heaven from the ocean. Thank you to Heather for the recommendation.

Plus 2 sodas, and 2 T-shirts, and our bill came to roughly $150. We...

We had family from all over the USA visiting. We called ahead and even went early as the owner said. First, the drinks were never brought for some of us. My daughter finally got a glass of water as some of the food came out. The food came out over a 30 + minute time frame. My sister in law had a steak with old burnt grill residue and she could not eat. We complained and the owner did nothing to make it right. In fact, a waitress suggested she share with another family member. The owner came back as we were all getting our bills (which were a mess). She basically called a family member a liar when he said the oysters never came with his meal. She rudely growled, I know some oysters came back here. Yeas more than one person ordered them. The icing on the cake was when she ranted she will never do another group like us. She said the front of her restaurant suffered because of us! Even with the 18% tip added, she told us to tip them well because nothing was their fault. The small menu was pricy and they charged different prices than printed. The attitude of the owner was horrible and rude. Please think twice before going here! They should have never taken our group if they were not equipped to...

Dont waste your time here people food was not good seafood was extremely salty, steak was burnt. We called first because we had a party of 30 people to accommodate which the lady said we could if we came early and we did. Never got my drink wait staff never came back except for one girl to bring food and the bill my daughter jamie waited on us with refill of drimks. I never complain but i did mention how burnt the steak was and couldnt eat it , the waitress said i could share my son in laws (not funny) the owner was to come but never did i ended up paying for the steak just to get the hell out that place especially after the owner came back to talk to my niece and to scold us saying how she would never do this again meaning serve a big party and how the front of her house suffered because of us (thank you Mary the owner )for treating my family like 2nd graders and for your customers up who suffered (NOT) thanks for caring about the back of your house our food never even came out all together some were done eatng while others didnt get their food again horrible service and food so disappointed in this establishment especially the un professionalism of...

Lived here for years and finally made it over to blackbeards while we had company visiting that loves fresh seafood so figured this was the spot to try. We were seated and waited on promptly. It’s a great menu with a lot of options. The bar menu is also impressive with local beers, wine and a wide variety of mixed drinks. We settled on an appetizer of stone crab claws and the pirate platter I think it was called with fried shrimp, fried mahi bites and a crab cake. You also get a choice of 2 sides. This is FRESH local seafood and you can tell. It’s pricey but I don’t mind it when it’s quality and quantity. Fresh garden lettuce garnishes all the dishes and even edible orchids. Got the earl grey brûlée for dessert since it sounded unique and it was absolutely divine. Top 3 best creme brûlées I’ve ever had. I’ve had ALOT. The vanilla bean in it was just so so good. Cudos to the chef here. This was the best meal I’ve had locally in a long time. Looking forward to our next visit. This will definitely be my new recommendation for those looking for the best seafood in the area.

Friendly service with decent seafood! When we first entered into the restaurant, we were finally excited to see a sign saying for us to wear masks and that all the employees were to wear masks because of Covid-19...but there was one. As she guided us to our table, she did not wear her mask throughout the whole time we’ve been there. After ordering our salads, we noticed there were things missing in one of our salads. One of us had no cheese. Another complaint would be that one of our salads also had way too much spinach compared to the others salad. I am not sure if it is a problem with consistency. Our steam pot lacked a bit of zing to it and they also didn’t purge the seafood before cooking it, leaving the seafood with a strong iodine aftertaste.
