The Fillin' Station — Restaurant in Beaufort

So I assume that you have all the customers that you want so good for you. Junior, reviews are left for people to see what the experiences of other customers were. I guess the way you berated my wife on her simple review makes you feel like a man though, It’s ok a lot of men berate women to make up for other “shortcomings”. As for the review though, she simply stated the facts. We walked in, and not a soul acknowledged we came in or were even there. Yeah we are from out of town, so our apologies if we didn’t know what was up and how “slammed” you were. Didn’t look that busy to me. Though, maybe 8 people in the bar area and a few folks sitting out on the deck.

When we visit places we like to try local restaurants because we DO prefer to support locals versus large chains which you can eat at anytime, anywhere. We were looking for a good local burger and since no one in the bar seemed to be eating, we thought that maybe food was served out back and that’s where we needed to go. So we did. We walked up to the window and the bartender, maybe it was you, maybe not doesn’t really matter…. We asked about the sign that simply said something like “all out come back for lunch….” Yeah we can read, and we’re asking about the sign simply for clarification if that meant like ALL your food was gone… or the fish sandwich… or what? We were completely ignored by the guy digging in the cash register so we left simple as that. Again the review was simply the fact that no one said “hey welcome to my business have a seat or hey we are out of food you want just beers?” So yeah… cry some more about 1 star reviews. It seems to me that you are the one wanting a participation trophy for having a business… well congrats. You got two one...

My friends and I decided to check out The Fillin station yesterday after avoiding it for so many years (we are all born and raised in Beaufort)….prior experiences were not too impressive with service, atmosphere or “acceptance”….our experience yesterday was the complete opposite! We walked in and immediately felt welcomed as we were greeted with actual SMILES!! A little goes a long way, folks, and a smile instead of a look of annoyance can make a HUGE difference! Service was impeccable — by the time we were to the last sips of a beer, someone was swingin’ by our table to check on us and offer another! Although we didn’t eat much, the food we did have (wings & fries) were great! The most satisfying part was having one of the owners, Michelle, came by our table after noticing we had been there for a while (we stayed for 5hrs 😜), she warmly greeted us, introduced herself and kindly welcomed us back anytime with the emphasis of creating a space for ALL locals! We will definitely be back and can now comfortably recommend The Fillin...

Wonderful water views, great food. The outside is sketch looking and the bar area/pool table are hard to navigate around. Go directly outside on the patio to the window to order. Don’t bother looking at the menu taped to the window. Odds are they are running some special and won’t have hardly any of it. If they have a chalkboard outside the window, those are your choices. If it’s not there, ask where it is. My options were wings and fries or fried shrimp and fries. Even though it wasn’t on the chalkboard it comes with a drink. I was not told about the drink and when I asked for a sweet tea 3 minutes after paying I was charged for it separately. So the service leaves a lot to be desired. Buuutttt… The fried shrimp were perfect! The fries are skinny like McDonald’s but better and perfectly salted. Cocktail sauce needed more horseradish but was ok. Great price for the deal! I’ll go again when they have some live music, the food and the view are great! Just be aware of the quirks of ordering...
