When you're from the I.E. especially Beaumont your first stop when you go back to Beaumont is Bakers. Not friends not family Bakers. It was one of two fast food places growing up in the 80's (Donald's Burgers the other but sadly is long gone. I miss you Mr. & Mrs. Yip) So its really sad to see how much our Bakers has been changed. The menu the items on the menus have changed drastically, no more souvenir plastic cup with the large drink even some of the friendly faces are gone now that there are new people calling the shots from up on high.Mama # 2 with sour cream and a Pibb or a Papa # 1 No let No tom and a Pibb. I've ordered one of those two selections since before high school. Even the hot sauce packets have changed, why??I know its a regional chain but it was always our home town bakers, it belonged to Beaumont. But now its not the same and neither will the loyalty from generations of customers. We use to talk about when we had money and our own cars we could go other places to eat. But as an adult with $$ and a car you still found yourself at the widow, Margarita or Susan handing out your coveted selection along with a friendly hello how you doing where you been. There are so few places like that and now there is one less. Your numbers get big your budgets your projections become life and death sales goals. But what gave you your success in the first place.Good food great service and a warm welcoming familiar place that whenever you stopped in...it was your place, your Bakers. I don't know who's Bakers it is now but its not mine. I go to or through Beaumont 4-6 times a month and that would mean one if not two meals each trip depending on the length of the visit. I went last week, first time this year. I'm sure it needed some attention here and there all places do, but in what the new regime was trying to gain in customer volume and dollars per average ticket it somehow lost what made it great, special and just plain old OUR BAKER'S. It stopped...
Read moreIf I could leave a -1 rating I would. Bakers as a franchise has gone down hill, but today I had a ground beef burrito that taste of imitation meat and/or grease. I couldn’t tell. And after spending ten bucks and a few bites, I threw the food out. Still hungry. Money wasted.
Context: I’m an adult that grew up on Bakers as a child that now lives out of state. That said, whenever I come home I am anxious to get a double baker, taco, or burrito. But sadly, and honestly, this place has fallen from grace. The quality and quantity of their food has depreciated as the prices continue to rise. Important note: this organization upped their prices long before inflation. It’s as if they saw how much their community embraced them and took total advantage, meanwhile, not delivering adequate food time after time again. I’m over spending my money and not getting what I pay for.
Do better before you cause someone to get sick! And no, this is not the first bad experience. It’s at least the 20th. I’m done and so is my family.
Also— I drove to Victorville and tried the Bakers there as well. Horrible! Who’s running the...

I live in Joshua Tree California and used to always look forward to coming to this baker's being the closest to my house, The last five visits, I've only enjoyed one meal.
