Broussard's Barbecue — Restaurant in Beaumont

You know, BBQ is highly speculative. It's an opinionated subject. Someone once told me that "the best chili was the one like your momma made." I think that is a factor. I discovered Broussard's by accident. It's a picturesque place. There is no inside dining or service. Just walk up and order from a window. I was in Beaumont for work and on my way home back to League City. I ordered to go. Asked what they were most proud of and they replied the sausage links and pork ribs so I got some.

There was a wait before they even addressed me and no one was in line. Then there was a bit of a wait before I was served a few sausages and some pork ribs.

They are good food if you are starving. But not so good compared to any of the more famous Texas BBQ places. The sausage was more like Boudin. The casing was rubbery and chewy and the meat was a fine grain, pate like substance which squished out as you bit it. Better spread upon crackers. The pork ribs were cooked to the point where they fell apart and the pound that I ordered was mainly the small junk ribs on the end of a spare rib rack. The meat itself was dry and overcooked. All of it, sausage and pork ribs were covered in sauce. The sauce was kind of like what you would expect from a can of pork and beans.

It's no BBQ legend! I ate most of it because I was hungry. But... its not bad food. Just bad BBQ. Probably, I will put the left overs into a...

This place lack customer service. The female at the window was short, and like always my order was completely WRONG!!!! I had a call in order, so I decided to go through the drive thru. WRONG answer!!! We waited and waited. Finally, it was our turn. I told the female, I had a call in and gave her my name. She came back asked 4 links. Because I waited for so long and already endured enough of her so called customer service, I said yes. My original call in order included 6 links for travel since they were out of frozen and cold links already. Remind you it's 2:30, and they're out already. Moving forward, I got my order and you guessed it. It was totally wrong!!! They gave me link sandwiches. Meaning the sauce is mixed in with the meat. I did say for travel!!! When I told them my order was wrong, I was told, they couldn't take the food back. However, I could order more sauce and fix it myself. REALLY!!!!! I try so hard to support locally owned business, but places like this...

I was a customer at Broussards BBQ on June 24,2020 10:30am ,phoned in order total $63.00 for travel. Picked up the order NO BREAD. So I go to the window asked for bread that came with order but I did not receive. The lady open the window there's a roach setting there and she asked me what's my order(roach just setting) . I asked for the missing bread ,she turned around took her bare hands and put the bread in a bag ( saw gross eyes). So I ask if there was available gloves then she replied WE Do. I say well how come you didn't use the gloves. She neatly folds the bag as she walks to the window. I told her with C19 ,food handling rules I refused the bread. She told me "HAVE A Good Day" I replied I will when I call the food and drug ADM. Well I called Bmt local was told we will get back with you. Still waiting ! Until Monday aget call back.
