Lily's Seafood Bar And Grill — Restaurant in Beaumont

I had lunch today at Lily's Seafood because I needed to pick up a boat down the road.

Firstly, the place was nice and clean. We were the only customers, because it was a late lunch.

It's counter order, which is fine by me.

We both had the shrimp poboys with fries.

I thought it was a good shrimp poboy. It was fairly large with lots of shrimp. Overall the flavor was good, but it was nothing that knocked my socks off. Still a sandwich that I would happily get again.

The fries were your basic crinkle fries; however, they were the best basic crinkle fries I've ever had. They were just the right crispness and tender on the inside with the perfect amount of salt. I also appreciate that they give you a refrigerated ketchup bottle.

The lady who took our order wasn't very personable at all. She wasn't rude or anything, but she definitely didn't seem to care if we were there or not.

Our food came out promptly in containers which you can eat there or take with you, which I actually liked.

The inside and outside are fairly basic and boring, but that's all it needs to be for lunch.

I'd definitely consider eating there again if I was passing through the area.

Oh, and the prices were very reasonable. I think it was just north of $12 for the poboy and a drink.

If you're hungry, and in the area, I'd definitely recommend giving Lily's...

There was a BIG difference from my first visit when they were fairly new. Today the fries were EXTREMELY overcooked and saturated with old grease. The fish, shrimp and oysters were severely overcooked and too hard to eat. After a few bites, my stomach became queasy from the grease and I had to throw it away.
