Go the chance to treat myself to breakfast. Definitely a 10/10. ❤️🍓🌰🍫 The Aesthetic, The Food, the Coffee… #beaumonttx

I've been wanting to check this place out, so I met a friend for coffee and lunch. It is a really small place. There were 4 tables and a bar. It was packed and we had to wait for a table. Lots of customers were getting to go orders and told us it would be worth the wait. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive. They didn't have any sugar-free drink options, so I got a no flavor latte and added stevia. We both ordered the Avo Smash, and it was really delicious! A large slice of french bread with a generous portion of avocado, sprinkled with tomatoes, drizzled with olive oil and some red pepper flakes. I only remembered to snap a pic when I was half done eating. I would have given Oz 5 stars if they had a sugar-free flavor or two. The coffee was smooth and not bitter with good flavor.

Today began my road trip to Louisiana for chef John Folse’s annual culinary event in Baton Rouge. As I was nearing Beaumont, I typed in “specialty coffee shops in Beaumont” and was directed to the Oz Café on Calder. And what a stroke of luck. The owners have a love affair with all things, Australian and set out to feature Australian themed beverages foods. I had a Lamington (possibly the best one I have had aside from the ones that I made myself one time). And so, instead of an Americano, I had an Australian style long black that was excellent. Coffee roaster is Austin based and you can see from the popularity of this place that it should be on your list for any trips you’re taking to Beaumont. Eat your heart out Blue Lane. Not even close.

A disappointing brew We recently visited OZ Cafe, drawn in by the glowing reviews, and I have to say, it really didn't live up to the hype.

Let's start with the coffee itself. For a place with "OZ" in the name, hinting at Australia's renowned coffee culture, the brew was unfortunately pretty mediocre. It lacked the depth and quality I've come to expect, falling short of anything truly memorable. Then there was the issue with the kids' order. We simply asked for a plain Nutella toast for them, without any extras. Not only did they manage to forget one of them initially, but we were then rather astonished to be charged a whopping $11 for a single piece of toast. That felt quite steep for what it was. Finally, a point that really stood out, and not in a good way, was the use of paper dishes for everything. In this day and age, with so much emphasis on sustainability, it felt a bit jarring and certainly not very environmentally friendly.

Overall, while the reviews might paint a different picture, our experience at OZ Cafe left us feeling a bit underwhelmed and, dare I say, perhaps a little taken advantage of. It's a shame, as we were hoping for a great...

Oz Cafe is seriously one of the best spots in Beaumont! The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and makes for an amazing study spot! I love bringing my laptop here and getting work done with a great cup of coffee by my side. Speaking of coffee… it’s always on point. Smooth, flavorful, and made with so much care! You can tell the baristas know what they’re doing! Their Avo Smash is amazing too, super fresh and packed with flavor (definitely my go-to when I want something delicious to eat). But what really makes Oz stand out are the people. The staff are so kind, friendly, and genuinely awesome, it makes every visit feel special. Between the food, the coffee, the vibe, and the community, I honestly just love everything about this place. If you’re looking for your new favorite coffee shop (or your new favorite study spot), Oz...
