I booked Tacos El Cheko for a work event of 100 people. The owner was prompt with his responses and provided all the necessary details that I inquired about. He was even flexible on when I was able to provide the deposit. On the day of the event, his crew was early to set up and ready to serve. People were offered a choice of chicken, asada, and al pastor tacos, in addition to mulitas, rice, and beans. Overall people enjoyed the food and the crowd favorites were asada and chicken. Unfortunately, there was some miscommunication which lead to a small number of people not being able to get a plate of food. I contacted the owner after the event and provided him with feedback. Throughout the entire interaction the owner was apologetic and provided alternate options to make things right. The owner went above and beyond to amend what had previously happened. This type of excellent customer service is not so common these days, I would definitely book...
Read moreI just left with my order and haven't even tried it yet, but I'll tell ya... you don't charge extra for the consome! That's just wrong! Especially when it's just a little baby cup of it, that's bad business. It's a numbers game, and you're playing the game wrong. Believe me, I know. Take my advice, you'll thank me later.
Edit: Whether it's posted on the menu or not, it's still ridiculous that you charge for the bi-product of the birria. I'm sure you're great business minds, and you know how to capitalize on a good thing, but you're missing the point.
Edit 2: Okay, yeah, this place is mediocre, at best. Charging $3 for their watered down consome, giving you a 7" quesodillo and calling it a 14" kasodillo, dude was fake friendly, though, with his "I'm not being biased with my personal opinion of this place", haha. He's either the owner or the owners bigger son, but either way, don't give people your opinion because that never ends...
Read moreWas excited to try this place since before they opened. They did not let me down! True authentic Mexican food which is hard to find in Beaumont. What sets them apart is their handmade tortillas- fresh tortillas makes all the difference for me. I bought the Birria plate & it was full of flavor. A lot of food joints don’t know how to make birria properly which leaves it dry & tasteless but not here- they made it a 10/10. The rice was also tasty & authentic. The beans were ok, nothing special but I would prefer refried beans with the plate. Service was quick. Prices were reasonable- tacos starting at $3.33 & the Birria plate I bought was a little over $12. You get a good amount of Birria for the price. Topped it off with some green salsa which was also surprisingly tasty. Will definitely be back soon to try the...
