While visiting New Hampshire with friends, we stopped by Purple Finch Café—and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The place has such a warm and welcoming vibe, and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We each got something different, and everyone loved their meal. Whether you’re into classic breakfast staples or more creative dishes, there’s something for everyone. One thing I really appreciated is that they allow pets at the outdoor seating area, which was perfect for our group since one friend had their dog with them. It’s a great touch that makes the café feel even more inviting. Highly recommend if you’re in the Bedford area—great food, great atmosphere, and pet-friendly too! I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in NH.

New fav breakfast spot! Tons of fun boozie coffee options and a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options. Everything on the menu sounded so amazing it was hard to decide on just one thing. I got the caprese breakfast sandwich with home fries. Great flavor and really fresh high quality ingredients. I just got a hot coffee this time but want to come back to try some of their specialty drinks. Our server was really kind and attentive. The inside has a diner and cafe feel to it. There is a breakfast bar, booths and tables available. We went earlier in the morning and there wasn't a wait. Great experience overall! Went back again and saw the toast menu they have and got the Tuscan toast was so delicious. Love this place!

Overall I am giving the Purple Finch Cafe a higher rating than the food itself would have received. I look for a gluten and dairy free menu and this restaurant provides that option. The avocado toast I selected did not have much flavor. My friend’s meal was very good. She said hers was very flavorful. The service was very good and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. There is plenty of parking. This is a place to relax, talk with a friend, and have a bite. It is a divided road and you must be heading the right direction to enter and can only turn right when you exit.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I would say our race has to be with our treatment from this location. My husband (black) and I (spanish) went in last week to have some food, we wanted to try something different and decided to try this spot. It was a nice day out and we decided to sit outside because inside was freezing. Before even sitting outside it felt like we were not even cared for. It was not busy at all we waited over 15 minutes to just sit at a table, again not busy so a lot of empty tables. When someone finally came to give us a table. They gave us our menus in our hand and told us to just sit anywhere, we looked at each other and said okay... Next we get to our table there is no silverware. We waited about 15 minutes before I finally got up to go back inside and ask if someone can at least take our drink order. Someone finally came out to take our drink order. We waited another 15/20 minutes for our drink that was still missing items for use to even enjoy our drink. My husband asked for a black tea with sugar and milk all we received was the tea and water no sugar no milk. I asked for an expresso which was as well missing ingredients and tasted awful that I just had to dump it out. I go finally go ack inside to see when someone was going to take our order. They said someone would come they came in 10 minutes. We gave out order.... waited and waited... I see people that walked in after us come and leave while we are still waiting for our food. My husband finally had it he said baby lets go. I said okay he went inside to let them know we were leaving they said they would come back with a check, which I honestly felt like we should have paid with the service we received but because we are nice people we still waited another 10 minutes, that's when I had it so I went inside and stated we been waiting for over 2 hours had to come back inside every single time we need something we seen people come in after us eat and left so why are we still waiting. The lady then processed to say well you weren't waiting for 2 hours and your order is being cooked now. It took a lot of me to not snap because how do you know I wasn't waiting for 2 whole hours when you didn't come to assist us not once! and for you to think I'm going to pay you anything is crazy because the service was awful. Now this point I'm like they are racist did not care about us and literality did not even APOLIOGIZE for the horrible service. Instead, she gave me an attitude and told me I am all set so she can continue to help her white customers. I am not a person to write reviews because I am a chef myself, I sell food for a living, and I love cooking and making my customer leave with a smile on their face and their hearts because of my cooking. So, I could not allow this to happened to anyone else. I had to write a review and I will be writing a review on every platform there is because this type of service is...

I used to love the purple finch. I would rave about it to anyone who would listen. I went at least once a week on my day off when I still lived in NH. I brought my husband back a few years ago and it was still great. So I was super excited to stop in last weekend after a road race when I was starving to get a good breakfast. Well, I sat down at the breakfast bar and waited approximately 10 minutes before anyone even greeted me. There were 4 girls behind the bar talking about taking shots and partying before their plans that evening and never once addressed me or said I will be right with you. When someone finally came over they were rude and not welcoming or kind at all. I ordered coffee with milk which was delivered but I wasn’t given a spoon and again waited 10 minutes for anyone to notice me. I ordered the garden eggs Benedict which I expected to be a veggie filled eggs Benedict. It came out after a very long wait swimming in hollandaise sauce. It was literally dripping off the side of the plate. I couldn’t even see my food and the home fries were also covered in sauce. When the waitress came over I politely said that I was a server for years and never send food back but that this plate was inedible and asked if I could please have another with the sauce on the side. She gave me a giant eye roll and after she hesitated said okay. While I was waiting I finished my coffee and no one refilled it. I asked someone and they gave me more coffee but I had no milk left. I had to wait a very long time before someone noticed I was trying to get their attention. My new breakfast came out and was slammed on the table. No “do you need anything else” nothing. The sauce was on the side but the eggs Benedict was covered in olives. Not something I would expect a garden eggs Benedict to have and I genuinely despise olives. I picked them off and hardly ate anything because at this point I wasn’t very hungry. I put my napkin on my plate and still tipped above 20%. I was truly disappointed as a mom of 4 who never gets to treat myself that this experience was so horrible. I will not return to the Purple Finch. It has gone WAY down hill. Not even comparable to the old...

Recently went to Purple Finch after a long hiatus due to some really bad service… Sadly, this was the worst experience to date. I came here with a group of 6. I ordered the scrambled goat, which is essentially eggs and wilted spinach (wouldn’t recommend). My meal came out 20 minutes after all the others were served, with little to no apology from our waitress. I had also ordered a side of the corned beef hash and our waitress assumed I wanted to substitute it for the homefries that were supposed to come with my meal. I didn’t want a substitution, I wanted it in addition to my breakfast that I ordered. Everyone was finished eating and I hadn’t even seen her in 15 minutes. She finally brings my plate out and says “they burnt your toast. I’ll bring it out after” with no apology … so I waited 20 minutes after my friends received their meals to get eggs and spinach without even the toast. To make matters worse, the meal was supposed to be topped with balsamic and pesto, which was the entire reason it seemed appealing, and neither of those were on the plate - I had to point this out to her and she seemed totally bothered that she had to take it back to get those toppings. Again, she was not even remotely apologetic or kind. At this point I was frustrated by her lack of sympathy, so I asked her politely to please comp my meal because a) it was incomplete and b) I did not get to eat with my group. She had the audacity to tell me to be nice! My group was utterly shocked… all regulars of purple finch who won’t be back. Side note, one from our group ordered the lemon tea bread appetizer. He waited for a half hour and our waitress came back and said they were out and could substitute with the banana bread bites, he said that was fine. Those came out LONG after his meal was done and he was still made to pay for them. If I had one person out of 6 waiting for their meal for the duration of the group eating, I would profusely apologize, not meet that guest with an attitude. I’m still waiting on my burnt toast... Do yourself a favor and go to...
