Starbucks — Restaurant in Bedford

Well, let me tell you about this place.

The date, Christmas morning 2020. I wake up from my slumber and i desire my Starbucks coffee.

Me beautiful trophy wife mobile orders, and I'm on my way. I drive through the candy cane forest, past the swirly, twirly gum drops and i arrive at Starbucks.

When i get there, i park my overly priced foreign car and walk in the rain, to pick up my order. I've done this before so i know what I'm doing.

My heart beats with excitement as i approach the door. All of a sudden two women are walking out and inform me i can't go in and i have to go through the drive through to pick up my mobile order. Before i go on, I'll give you a second to read that part again. Ok cool.

I ask the women WHO JUST CAME OUT OF STARBUCKS, why i can't go in and they tell me, well we work here we get special treatment.

I don't want to be a grinch, so i don't acknowledge them and go back to my car to wait in the drive through line. And i wait. And i wait. And i wait. And i wait. And i wait. And i wait.

Finally, after 40 minutes, i get up to the speaker and I'm told ok and to pull up. So i finally get to the window. My palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms heavy. Mom's spaghetti. I'm finally getting my drink.

NOPE.

They inform me that there's no order for me. I show them the screen shots, clearly saying the Bedford Starbucks. They look at me like it's still my fault and I'm an idiot.

Finally i get my drinks. I get home and hand my hot wife her drink. It was wrong.

I ruined Christmas. She divorced me. Ok that part isn't true, but everything else is. It took over an hour to get my drinks after i show up. No apology. Not one of those $4 gift cards. Nothing. All i got was a look of annoyance by the young lady...

So this Starbucks is the most convenient to my home. And I go here often…. However I was again reminded of a major point of frustration.

This Starbucks location, in particular more often than not messes up custom orders. Yes, I understand that mistakes happen during busy times….I get it. But no other Starbucks routinely messes up orders like Bedford.

Quick story: I am diabetic…. And I can safetly have a hot latte without having to compensate for the amount of sugar in a latte (milk already has carbs). Today I stopped in after gym-time and ‘cheated’ by ordering a 1-pump PSL…. But I was given a “regular” PSL. Besides being cloyingly sweet - it’s actually unsafe for me to drink without compensating for the insane amount of sugar.

Of course, I had walked out to my car before I tasted it…. And was hustling home (so I couldn’t go back).

I am writing this review to ask management to please remind your baristas of the importance of following special requests. This can actually be a safety/health concern…. I would truely love to order more than plain Lattes at Bedford Starbucks (lattes are always perfect, and never get messed up!!)

Note: I had to wait until I got home to drink the PSL Because I ran out of my house without meds. This morning … to go to...

My order usually comes out wrong at this location, for starters. Decided to try something new the other day, grande cold brew with heavy cream, vanilla and whip. It rung up $1 more expensive than the mobile app showed but I decided not to question it. At the window they told me they had just run out of cold brew. Again, not that big of a deal, I just asked to have iced coffee with everything else the same. They offered to upsize it to a venti for free since iced coffee is cheaper than cold brew. I appreciate that, at least. However I then watched them make it with skim milk instead of heavy cream, used the same number of pumps for a grande so it would be less sweet as a venti, and they forgot the whip. Also, when I got home and tried the drink, my first sip was a mouthful of burnt, bitter coffee and the bottom of the cup was black with coffee grounds. I guess I'll be making my own coffee at home...
