This was our first time sitting down to eat at Miller's. Typically when we eat out I expect it to take around an hour, so I made sure we had an hour plus a small buffer to make it on to our next obligation of the day.
When we came in there was no wait and the majority of people we saw were at the bar so it didn't appear to be busy in a way that would merit slower service.
Our large issue was with how pushy our server was and how poorly she handled the situation that happened. She kept trying to push things on us that we didn't want, which slowed things down and was also annoying. I get making suggestions and "upselling" I worked in restaurants for more than a decade but after we've declined more than once going "are you sure" again and again is just wasting all of our time. We waited over 30 minutes for our food to come out, when it did I noticed my burger had very little of the bbq sauce that was supposed to be on it, my friend had the same burger so we requested more sauce to add. She came out with two sides but for some reason mine wasn't the bbq sauce instead it was something extremely spicy. I have a genetic medical condition and cannot have very spicy food, it causes a reaction. I asked for a manager because one I was panicked and two I was just out of time and needed to get home where I had my medication in case I had a severe reaction. I was given some milk by one manager I guess who checked on me, she was nice. But then the server comes back and starts going on about "it's not my fault" "don't take it out on me" "I don't get the sauce myself" (you could clearly see the two sauces were different, I didn't know any better but for someone who works there idk how she missed it) but regardless none of us were trying to "blame" we just wanted to get out of there at that point. So we just said can we get the check. She says sure askes if we want boxes we decline etc. She comes back and says her manager has to come out with the check then starts harassing my kid about taking home her applesauce because otherwise she's "just going to have to throw it out" like read the room, now sure is not the time to make an offhand comment like that.
Eventually the manager comes out and takes his time because he wants me to fill out a report, I told him I just need to go. Luckily I had cash on me for the bill for once cause I can't even imagine having to wait for them to run the card on top of everything.
I get mistakes happen, but how this was handled was absolutely horrible. And if someone says no, it means no. Not pressure them, not guilt trip...
Read moreHad a bad experience at this restaurant about 3 months ago with food poisoning and swore I would never come back. Today, my wife and son insisted they wanted to go here for lunch, so I figured I would give this place another chance. The bartender was our waitress as we were in a booth next to the bar. When asked what we wanted for drinks, we responded a sweet tea for my son and I and a Corona for my wife. We also ordered a pretzel as an appetizer. About 20 minutes passed, and another waitress brought us our appetizer without any plates or silverware. It wasn't until the bartender returned a short time later that she noticed the missing items and finally proceeded to get what we needed. At this time we placed our orders for lunch. My wife got a Caesar salad and French Onion soup, my son got a kid's fried shrimp with broccoli and I got the fish and fries with a cup of Onion Soup. It took almost 30 minutes before my wife got her soup and salad followed by the waitress putting 9 cold fried shrimp on a plate without broccoli in front of my son. She then told me his vegetable and my entree would be right out. We had to wait another 10 minutes before she returned with barely cooked cold broccoli which was hard as a rock and my fish and fries. The fries were cold and the coating on the fish was soaked in grease and soggy. When the bartender returned to check on us, I told her of my displeasure and asked if my soup was going to be brought out anytime soon and I wanted to speak to a manager. She told me I never ordered any soup when I gave her my initial order. Not only did she lie to me, but she apparently never told the manager I wanted to speak to them. This type of service and food quality is inexcusable. Trust me, I will never reccomend this place to anyone. Plenty of other establishments in this area to go to for quality food and service. Lesson learned...again!
UPDATE Brian called from the restaurant and said he would deal with the situation. Offered me a gift card the next time I returned. We'll...
Read moreThis is a mixed review of 2 totally different experiences. 1) For dinning in on 11/08/20 at 6:00pm. The experience was great ! Great friendly very attentive service. Great food and presentation with very well tasting food. So really 5 stars for the wait staff !! 2) For the take-out experience on 11/10/20 that I would only give really 1 star. I was on hold for 30 minutes driving in and ended up ordering in person. (We came back only because of the first great dinning in experience) So I mentioned that to the hostess and she said sorry about that do you want to order something now ! So we ordered mahi mahi tacos again and chicken fajitas. For some reason the take out cost more than the dinning in even though we had two margaritas that night ?Anyway the food was less than desired when opened for eating. No taco condiments to go in. Just the badly seasoned mahi mahi this time and tasted not good. Also the chicken fajitas were really not what you have come to expect in a fajita.Dry chicken onions and little green peppers that's it!! Oh yes there was sour cream some lettuce and tomatoes. Hardly enough to stretch for 4 tortillas!! So beware and take heed that the consistency is not there and you should check your food before leaving the premises. Which is something we really don't want to do and just be able to trust the establishment to also have quality food and services for what they...
