I wanted to like this place but having already been to Mole La Tia in Boyle Heights, it was hard not to compare and contrast.
The best item I enjoyed at Moles De Los Reyes was their tortilla. Second would have to be their lamb barbacoa taco. I had the grasshopper taco and it was a tad too bitter. I would never order this again but glad I tried it.
Everything else was just OK for me. The Mole de fresca (with pork) and horchata was a tad too sweet for my taste. Hate to compare but Mole La Tia is so much better in terms of quality of the food.
This eatery is also quite small but expect a wait time if you're coming here during peak hours.

You can also request your chilaquiles to be made spicy. I love the level of tanginess ( not too much like other restaurants.) The potatoes in the meal are out of this world.
Also, it's pretty hard finding an horchata that doesn't have too much of that chalky consistency. This drink is absolute perfection. Perfectly strained. It's a bit on the sweeter side but I don't mind it. The pumpkin seeds and sugar rim on the cup knock this one out...
