McDonald's — Restaurant in Belleville

I have come to this location for years and never encountered a problem until the other day. My meal was $4.54 I gave the young lady $10, she handed me .47 cents back and closed the window. I then tried to wave her back to open the window and when that did not work I eventually just knocked on window which led to her finally acknowledging me. I then go on to inform her about the cost of my meal and bring to her attention she handed me the incorrect change, well she caught an attitude and did not even try to be helpful or check over my receipt. I had to end up calling the store and request to speak to a manager who then informed me the girl ended up admitting to them she made a mistake and they had my money up front waiting when I came. When I came in I was told by a different manager that the manager I spoke to left no message about my change but she would check and if I could wait for her, well she never even checked and instead told me I would have to come back when that manager was working at the window.

At this point I am livid as I understand mistakes happen but it's how we handle those mistakes by either taking proper ownership or if its not our fault handling the situation as best we can and most importantly communicating! My situation was handled poorly so now I will be making an extra trip to a location I will never...

I’ve pretty much given up on the McDonald’s on Carlyle Ave and have been going to this one instead. It seemed a little nicer and the playground was something different for my son to play on. Today my experience was a little different. As I walk up to order, I was stopped in my tracks as the guy taking orders had his shirt lifted up scratching his belly. It took me a second, but I realized he had an undershirt on. Still not something I want to see, but against my better judgement, I ordered some food anyway. While he was getting my food order wrong, I started looking at the multitude of bracelets he was wearing. I was a little shocked when I saw the F-word on one of them. Are there no standards here? I thought about saying something to the manager, when I saw his name tag said he was the swing shift manager. Are there any decent McDonald’s left out there?

Edit: I initially had this place 2 stars and that was only because we’ve had better luck with them in the past. But I had to come in here and edit this. As I’m sitting in the playplace with my son, one of the workers came in and used the bathroom. He was in there for a good 15 mins (use your imagination on what he was doing). I went to McDonald’s tonight before 10.. after I had went to two other fast food chains that there website said they were open until 10.. but both said they were closed.. so now I am frustrated!! I was starving! So I ordered a #7 filet meal and pulled through. When I got to the food window the very nice employee asked me to pull forward because they were making my food fresh! I was like sure that’s great THANKS! So while I am waiting I post a negative review on the other chains website. When the McDonald’s employee brings me my food.. ARE YOU READY FOR THIS??? She apologized for my wait AND THANKED ME FOR COMING!!! I was like WOW... you are welcome! So I was feeling pretty good. Now I NEVER post reviews on websites but I was really upset with the first 2 places.. so as I am driving home I think to myself I am going to right a positive review about the exceptional employee at McDonald’s. So I get home and I open my food... and I have a quarter pounder and not a FILET!! I am sooooo disappointed! But that was not the kind employees fault.. she didn’t take the order. So the moral of this story is KINDNESS GOES A LONG WAY!! I ate my quarter pounder and thought she needs to be recognized for her amazing customer service. When was the last time someone thanked you for coming to there place...
