Hidden gem in a quiet corporate park. I appreciated the open but still cozy design inside. The location along the river makes for a very relaxing setting to have an espresso.
There a few tables outside as well.
You wouldn't know this place existed if someone didn't tell you about it. It's very close to downtown Bellevue, but far enough that it's hidden in the trees and away from the noise of the city. If you find yourself downtown and want a unique place to have a coffee and chill for a minute, this is the place.
Location and aesthetics aside, the coffee is up to standard. The baristas seem experienced and the froth on my cappuccino was very consistent and properly done. The roast they use won't necessarily win any awards, but it didn't stand out as being subpar and was certainly serviceable.
They pride themselves as being a 'mocha' cafe, so they make their own chocolate and focus on various mochas.
They have a variety of food options and the roast beef sandwich was a combination of quality ingredients, albeit slightly overpriced for what you would expect from a cafe. That is somewhat to be expected based on the location and proximity of the corporate offices so I can't really knock them for that.
Overall, I would I definitely recommend trying this place out if you're in the area. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality...
Read moreI have no idea how they can specialize in chocolate yet make a hot chocolate so bland and yet tasting so uncannily like soap and cardboard. I thought this one would finally be a winner, but it was the biggest disappointment. I ordered a dark hot chocolate with a shot of caramel and it tasted nothing like chocolate (nor caramel). How???
The worker taking my order could barely hear me over the crowd of people shouting at each other. The space made every sound deafening. I had to double check the order being put in to restate things they missed because it was just that loud in there. It seems really easy for them to mess up orders because of the architecture and chatty clientele.
The breakfast croissant sandwich was alright, but anyone who doesn't like their food to be soggy/soft might want to avoid it. Personally, I don't mind when everything is mushy, but I would see that being an issue for others.
Overall, I cannot give enough caution to chocolate lovers considering a trip here. I have yet to try their actual chocolates on their own, but if they taste like the hot chocolate did, I might not even want...
Read moreThe location is beautiful and outside seating great when weather is nice. Water available for customers and bathrooms are nearby.
Good variety of items. What is unfortunate is having ordered a ham and cheese croissant, which they state are made fresh daily. What's unfortunate is having my croissant not cooked through. The inside was dough, uncooked and unpleasant. Would not have written this review if this hadn't been the 2nd time something had gone wrong with my purchase.
The sandwiches are good. Coffee is comparable to other cafes. But if you order food to go, especially if it's stated they make it fresh daily, check to ensure it is cooked through. I was lucky I noticed this before consuming the croissant and avoided possibly getting sick.
It's a nice location and having happy hour available is a great perk in the office Park, but I will not be purchasing food here just in case.
The ladies that work the front always super sweet and helpful. Wished the food matched their...
