Last night I ordered food for my husband and I for my birthday from Black Pearl Asian Fusion - Bellingham, WA. We got the food and it was by far the most disgusting meal I've ever had. The chicken in the soup tasted rotten, the veggies in the spring roll we got was slimy. We were promised green tea ice cream with the meal and instead got what looked like melted milk. My partners curry tasted and smelled like a rotten animal. It had a film and powdery substance in it. Usually, I wouldn't ever want to complain as I hate to get anyone in trouble, but we were both sick all night just from the few bites we had. My husband didn't eat more then a few bites, and I had to throw mine out when it started to make me nauseated. It was a real bummer to have this happen on my birthday. It also seemed to have contaminated my partner with gluten. We believe the powdery substance in the curry was due to a roux. Since when does Curry need a roux (water and wheat flour to thicken) ? It's usually a safe choice for gluten intolerance on Thai or Indian menus as it's traditionally gluten free. It also ended up being unreasonably expensive. $20 for curry that tastes rotten?
Just, all around a really terrible experience and frankly this place needs to be closed down. I'm so sorry to say it as I know there are people behind...
Read moreThis was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a while. We started off with an order of shrimp salad rolls, and then ordered some steamed dumplings. When we received our salad rolls and peanut sauce, I couldn’t even finish sinking my teeth into the roll and I threw it back on the plate. The peanut sauce was awful, and the chef clearly microwaved it for way too long before he served it to us. It was microwaved so long that the sauce that touch the inside of the bowl was completely hardened. My wife took a few bites of hers and a disgusting amount of water shot out of the back of the salad roll. My appetite was ruined so I told the guy working there that this dish was awful, I don't want the dumplings anymore and I would like to pay my bill. Instead of putting his Ego aside, he continued to tell me over and over again “ Are you from around here? Do you know good asian food? I’ve not had a bad review in 14 years “ Well clearly this guy isn't connected to the internet, as I've read a hell of a lot more bad reviews than the one I am writing right now. I regret spending $7.00 at this...
Read moreI ordered a vermicelli bowl with pork meat and a size of peanut sauce... they told me they didn't have enough pork so they were going to complete the portion of meat with beef, to which I agreed. My order was to go so I didn't try my food until after about 40 minutes, when I started to try the food I noticed that something smelled bad and inspecting everything I realized it was the meat, the pork was spoiled, it smelled bad and even had a slimy consistency to the touch, the beef was obviously old, it was dry but not dry from poor cooking, dry from what you can see it was out of refrigeration... the peanut sauce had a thick but unpleasant consistency, it looked very bad. In general everything looked bad, unfortunately I was passing by so I couldn't open my food until 40 minutes later and I didn't have the chance to go back to complain but if you are thinking about eating at this place, DON'T DO IT this place is disgusting, the health department should do something about it. @Whatcom County Health and...
