As they say in Niketown, if you haven't tried Five Guys, "Just Do It!"

Five Guys started in the Washington, D.C. area and found its way to Bellingham a few years ago. Although they are from "the other Washington," they're pretty good.

Five Guys was founded on the principal of a simple menu where every burger is cooked to order from fresh, locally produced ingredients and served hot exactly the way it was requested. It's a no-frills operation that prizes fast, friendly counter service and consistently good food in a clean, well-kept environment.

These are not Gourmet Burgers (though they are better than most) and they are not there cheapest play in town, but the food here is good and nobody eating here will walk away hungry.

The fries are amazing. Always cooked to order from fresh, hand-cut local potatoes, some might find them a little greasey or over-seasoned, but I like 'em!

While you wait, samples as many freshly roasted peanuts...

Not particularly satisfied this time. Get ready to tear open tons of ketchup packets. Self serve condiments? What's that?

Update: no longer my favorite burger joint. Enough of this little ketchup packet business. You get like four or five fries per ketchup packet. 20 ketchup packs later and I still have fries left from a large fry. Changing my review to one star because I'm tired of this tedious mess. I thought once the masked mandates were lifted this would be done. If you're trying to be environmentally friendly this isn't working. If you're trying to keep people free of germs I'm pretty sure this is making the tables more gross. Let people get their own ketchup the way you used to. If people want individual ketchup servings they can still ask for it but let everybody else just get their...

Five Guys is great - at every location I have been to. A lot of options for what to add to a burger - no matter how plain or whacky you want it to be - they've got ya covered! The kid options aren't fantastic, because the prices are a bit high, especially if your kid doesn't have a huge appetite. It would be great if they had a smaller and less expensive kid's meal. However, that is literally my only complaint. I visit them whenever I'm in an area that has one and I want a burger and fries! Very consistent.

Also, the fries are amazing. Cajun ones are the best!! So good. They make them fresh there as well (you'll find stacks of bagged potatoes all around the restaurant).

If you see one - go check it out! You...

I only eat here about once a year but when I do, the fries are almost always overcooked a lil too much. The rest of their food is great. If you do eat here, don’t sit outside. Across the street by FredMeyer are a bunch of homeless waving signs asking for money and food and I felt bad sitting outside across from that corner of the intersection having my dinner. Couldn’t really eat inside cus it was crowded. x2 Little Hamburger x1 Large Fry x1 Oreo Shake Came to $32.70…I cant really complain, at least it wasn’t over $50

When all of the pandemic stuff is done maybe I’ll change this, but they are relying on a lot of takeout right now and they get a fail for that! I had a really easy order: Ketchup, mustard and triple raw onions. When I got home I had to get out an onion and chop it myself, because they had given me no extra… actually not even the same as normal! And the ketchup & mustard was right in the middle of the hamburger. Does anyone want their condiments only in the center?
