PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO I have been in Cap Hansen multiple times. But this was shocking to me. Today, I went there, and there were two bartenders. One old white beard guy and one partial beard guy on each side. Let me call them white beard and partial beard. So I went there and ordered drinks. While i was drinking, i saw regular jameson and jameson black barrel. Personally, i never tried black barrel one, and i wanted to try it, so i called the white beard old guy to ask about it. But he hand signed me to wait, and th bar was busy, so i waited. Meanwhile, I was very thursty, so i drank water in my water bottle. Then, the old white beard guy complained about me drinking water from my own water bottle. I accepted complaints because some bars do not allow that. But i was mad that they did not have time to get my order, but I had a fat minute listing complain about me drinking about drinking water from my water bottle. So I asked that you dont have a second to get my drink order, which would give them money, but have a minute to complain about me drinking water. They talked about it to each other and ended up kicking me out of the bar. The old white beard guy even said that I was harassing him, then purposely ignored me. Then, the other bartender came to us and threatened us with giving me specifically 3 munute to leave the bar without listening to the story from my side when i was not even done with drink that i ordered. They just believed story that the old white beard bartender said a d kicked me out for no further discussion. I had a great experience going to this bar and quite enjoyed their drink, and I know those bartenders since i got drinks from them so many times, but with their service today, i would never go there again. Their personality truly revealed in busy time. Hope you all read this 🙏. Thank you. There are a lot better bars in bellingham that still care about customers even when...
Read moreI think the bartender was drunk? My experience was way too weird.
I went out with two friends and was the DD. I was first in line and asked if I could have a lemon water. My two friends asked for a PBF. The friend in back tries to pay and the bartender gets all weird asking if they're okay. My friend of course said yes but felt awkward because all they were trying to do was pay... then the bartender asks us if they should be cut off to which I responded that Im DD and everyone will be safe tonight. The bartender pours the two drinks, doesnt give me a water and tells me my friend is cut off and has me grab "my" drink and charged us.. but I didnt order one! My friend grabbed the drink because obviously I wasnt drinking and the bartender runs from behind the counter, grabs the drink and my friend violently and forces us out of the bar while yelling at us and saying we are banned.
I did call the bartender an a.s.s for pouring the drink my friend ordered while kicking us out. Like what did you expect? Why did you even pour it if they were cut off?
This was near the end of the night, the bar was mostly empty with no line behind us, we were quiet and not causing any scene. Why would you grab us so violently?
Ive been coming here for over 6 years and now never will again. Ive never been afraid of a bartender before AND I WAS SOBER... (from what I remember this bartender is also the owner) the guy was just looking for a fight it seems. Im just glad none of us got hurt being forced out.
Orion is the better bar. My friend got their drop shot there after...
Read moreI recently patronized this establishment, and while the PBF's were exemplary, I must say I was put off by the demeanor of the bouncer who denied my friend (who is of legal drinking age) entry to the bar. The basis for this denial was specious at best, discriminatory at worst, and sickened me so that I couldn't bring myself to enter for a second time. Frankly, I look roughly as old as Anthony Michael Hall in Sixteen Candles (which lacks in comparison to John Hughes' other films, but I digress), which makes the rejection of my friend even more jarring. Will I come back? Probably not, because I'm only a visitor to this strange land of hills and hipsters. Would I recommend this bar to others? In my exceptionally limited experience, making the walk down near the ocean and grabbing some Big Mamas at Jalapenos is a guaranteed joy.; the more adventurous could take a walk through the Sehome Arboretum while under the influence of psilocybin mushrooms, capping it off with a feast of Red Baron pizzas. Both of these options would be preferable to watching your deer friend since elementary school be unjustly barred from Cap Hansen's bar. As for me, I'm watching Ratatouille at the moment when I would almost definitely be at Cap Hansen's (had my friend not been ousted), and I must say I feel both cultured and entertained - if I were to make this choice 74 times, I would choose Ratatouille at least 71 of...
