I'm on a personal adventure that I call my, "Chippin' Away Tour." Where I order nachos whenever they're served and I rate them. These are based on my personal likes/dislikes. Here is my review for Greene's Corner. This was my first review so the layout is a bit weird.
Greene's Corner: Pork Nachos 7/10 2/15/25
-Toppings: pork cilantro onions Tomato olives
General Observations Definitely more chips than toppings. Or at least seems that way due to the amount of uncovered chips. Decent amount of pork Pretty good sweet/spicy sauce Toppings added a nice level of freshness
Price $15
Cheese Type shredded/dry not a lot of cheese at all
Presentation served on a large metal plate on a blue checkered paper.
Summary My favorite part of these were the toppings in general. I liked the sauce they added and the amount of pork. However, it felt like there were too many chips that were completely bare and didn't even have cheese on them. By the end it seemed like both the chips and toppings were finished at the same time though. There was definitely not enough cheese though it appears they wanted to prioritize the other stuff. Which worked well enough. I am giving these nachos a 7/10. The price was great for how much you get. It could easily be shared between 2-4 people. The toppings were great despite the uneven amount of layering...
Read moreI want to start this by saying I’m not one to give bad reviews. I try to see things from the point of view of the workers as someone in the service industry. However here I am. We really wanted to like this place, we went once before and had decent food but we went again today and I can’t say the same. I got chicken and waffles and when it came with sausage gravy and a tiny side of syrup I was surprised but I tried it anyway. The gravy had to be intended to cover up the violently over cooked chicken. I mean it was black on the outside and almost inedibly dry on the inside. The gravy itself was good but definitely not something I’ve ever seen on chicken and waffles. My partner got a wrap that was not actually wrapped. Like completely open on both ends so everything inside fell out, his meat was also very over cooked and dry, and for fries that come with an up charge I’d hope they would be seasoned and well cooked but they too were burnt. It seems like others have had similar situations with their chicken and waffles with it being over cooked and burnt. I can’t imagine looking at a piece of chicken that looks like that and serving it to a customer. I’m pretty sad because we wanted to like it here but this last experience...
Read moreWe love eating at Greene’s corner but this review is for the Turkish dinner that was done by a guest chef. The venue was great and the staff were great. The wine course for 50$ was great. The food wasn’t good. We’ve eaten quite a bit of Turkish food and sadly talked 3 of our friends into coming, expecting deliciousness, was disappointing at 125$ a pop. The mezze plate wasn’t bad but why watermelon in May? The radishes were dry and tasted old in May? Didn’t make sense. The red pepper and walnut spread was delicious. Cheeses check. Bread check. Olives great. Tea. Dessert check check. The in between was forgettable, esp the fish. Who cooks fish with skin on and doesn’t serve it crispy? That’s basic cooking. The lamb kofta was like a paste it was so processed and the sauce was split. And those poor calamari. This could’ve been an epic dinner for the price but it wasn’t executed and the most off putting is that most of those 30-40 people don’t know what they’ve missed. Fresh and vibrant and mouth watering is what we hoped for and most was overcooked and...
