Update: We have been eating here for a year now and my husband and I agree, it is so nice to find a local restaurant that offers such a high level of consistency. When we place our orders we know what they will taste like. And every to go order for a year has been 100% accurate. My family loves that we can all order the same dish but we can customize the spiciness. Consistently good food, our orders are accurate, and they customize dish spiciness to order. 👏👏👏
Original review: WOW!!! BEST FOOD in BELLINGHAM!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Nowhere else even comes remotely close 😳
We moved from Bellingham from Houston over 10 years ago. We love Bellingham but the local food scene is lackluster at best. My husband and I are used to being disappointed by the lack of flavor when eating out in Bellingham. However after 10+ years I can say we finally found an outstanding restaurant that knows how to prepare fantastic food!!!
Last night I had a craving for tom kha gai soup, and took to google for a place to get take out. My family and I were pleasantly surprised by the menu and my husband was kind to go pick it up. He said the place was slammed on a Saturday night. While he waited for our takeout order, he watched the orders come out for the table service. He said everything coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. When he brought the food home we were absolutely blown away, everything was excellent. We ordered soups (the true show of skill of a cook) entrees, and appetizers. Everything had unique flavors with depth and top quality fresh ingredients. We have never had such a fine meal from anywhere in Washington that was this good; and it was takeout! It needs to be noted that they were able to serve that level of food on a busy Saturday and the order was 100% accurate.

Read moreI ordered almost $100 worth of food to try this place out and i was surprised by the odd flavors here. The pad thai isnt made with pad thai flavors or sauce but a dark brown salty sauce that is also used for the fried wings. I ordered chicken in all of the dishes and it was already dried out and hard to chew, even in the curry. For whatever reason they call the wings thai wings but its not the sweet sticky honey sweet chili sauce coating the wings like you would get at any other thai place. It's that salty brown clumpy sauce. I dont think that the people who own and work here are even Thai or even from Thai land-- these arent thai flavors ..the aloha curry pineapple rice has so many huge cut raw undercooked vegetables you cant even get thru chewing it. You need a steak knife to cut them down and they doesn't help that they are raw. These huge chunks of vegetables make no sense and the dried out meat...they should be ashamed. I ordered the crispy chicken and it was just salty chicken..i couldnt taste anything else. I think these flavors are from some other cuisine. These arent thai food flavors sauces and seasonings. They are just throwing cilantro in everything as if that makes it thai food. It does not I wont be going back. Raw curry powder sprinkled over the rice for the pineapple rice instead of cooked into the rice. I'm still hurt by the pad thai most of all.. how do you mess that up? The noodles were so hard and stuck together, they were like matted venetian blinds that got sticky. You couldn't get any of the noodles out the container to eat the food. They were so stuck together and congealed. And that salty brown sauce is horrible. I've had pad Thai made with ketchup in Seattle that was better than this. So greasy. Made me bloated and uncomfortable...i could not...
Read moreThis review is based on three time visits. The first two was during business trip and the last one I made personal effort just to be there long drive back and forth between Bellevue and Bellingham.
"Bank and Oil" a young Thai couple ran the business with strong passion of a better thai food. Their menu is unique and very selective. I could see why they were very busy and sometimes shorthanded after first opening.
Thai Maison fried rice was phenomenal. They used good steak for a fried rice and you could tell the difference. For the price and the quality vs quantity, worth every penny.
I also tried Tom Yum Soup with prawn/shrimp. In Bellevue, you pay $16.99 approx for a shrimp/prawn Phad Thai with 4 pcs in the order. Here at Thai Maison, you pay the same for 6-7 pcs in the order or at least that's what I got on my plate, plus the shrimp size was big. The serving came in a hot pot, traditional Thai style. The broth was to die for and tasted so original. How do I know it's original? A born and bred Thai here telling you.
I ordered black sticky rice with coconut milk for my dessert. Simply delicious. They know how to make the plain dessert uplifted to a fancy scale with coconut meat and spacial mixed coconut milk - well done!!
The service was great. Ambience was nice with parking and all. Worth all my hard earned money and the time I spending on driving, just to be there for a meal. Very authentic Thai food, new style, never boring. Highly recommend and I...
