The Beef Barn — Restaurant in Bellingham

My wife and I decided to take lunch at the Beef Barn . We founf it to be a clean, tidy and attractive dining facilitiy. Wait staff was efficient friendly and polite. Prices were very reasonable, but……. The famous roast beef sandwich was bland and we relied heavily on the ARBYS style sauce. I initially ordered a pastrami sandwich but found out it was just the meat on a bun and not deli style. The fries were good but the order of home made crisp potato chips were intermingled with chewy or soggy chips. The Carrot cake was not fresh, while not stale was difficult to stick a fork into. I ordered a grapenut pudding to go and was given a very small condiment container of potato salad. I discovered this before leaving and asked that it be replaced with the grapenut pudding. I sampled it just to make sure and the pudding was tastless. No flavor except a hint of nutmeg. Whoever made this must have forgotten to put in the sugar. We asked that it be taken off the bill and the manager obliged. We tipped the wait person appropriately because she was prompt and courteous. This place was BY FAR ,ONE of the BEST, TOP NOTCH RESTAURANTS. The place is spotless, the decor is beautiful, it's antiqued of the past, and how things used to be. Our waitress Michelle was EXCELLENT!!! She was friendly but yet professional, she also provided prompt service. Our food was done and served in under 5 mins. Nice quick service but did NOT rush us out the door like other places do, in fact she told us to relax and take our time. Lastly, she frequently stopped to ask if we needed anything, and how our meal was. It's not often nowadays, to get that great of service from someone especially so young, where the food is excellent and very very cheap, you will be SHOCKED at how low the prices are. My husband and I BOTH had our own meals with soda, our total cost was ONLY 13$. I hate to blow up the spot because I'd personally rather keep it my own little secret spot. But this place is absolutely amazing, and deserves all the business. Hayley was absolutely amazing and compliments to the chef as well. Food was top self, I would like to see some brisket on that menu though (hint) lol. But seriously though the prices are so ridiculously cheap you'd think your gonna leave hungry. But I'm ready to undo my belt buckle. I'm so stuffed and for me and my wife too eat a sandwhich each have some shrimp with fries and of course tartar sauce i had soup she had a salad we had to have milkshakes and left with an order to go for my mother at home and some desert to go. Only 40 bucks!?!?! That's absolutely crazy in this economy. Keep doing what you guys are doing. This was the perfect pit stop for our motorcycle ride.
