Turtle Tap — Restaurant in Beloit

Where to start? Im from Georgia just passing through when I see the turtle tap bar and grill. I enter and take a seat at the bar. Everyone is served and the atmosphere is upbeat, the service from the bar was below average, after I ordered food (which was amazing) from the taco truck, the Bartender passed by my empty bottle countless times and never offered another beer. When I finished my meal I asked for another beer but i guess the bartender standing right in front of me didnt hear me. I watched her walk by other customers which i assume are regulars and without missing a beat grab another beer and give it to them without them having to ask. The only way I'd go back is for the tacos. If the taco truck had his own restaurant...

We stopped at Turtle Tap Bar and Grill halfway through a long road trip, hoping to grab a bite, have a couple drinks, and pick up some cigarettes. Both the hanging sign and the huge painted wall outside clearly advertise beer, booze, ice, and cigarettes—but surprise, they don’t sell cigarettes. Kind of misleading for travelers passing through the area.

It wouldn’t take much effort to update or cover that part of each sign, so leaving it up feels careless—it’s a small thing, but it makes a difference.

When we inquired inside, the bartender laughed and said they haven’t sold cigarettes “in a long time,” which came off a little dismissive. We ended up going elsewhere for our cigarettes, and our food and drinks. Disappointing...

Walked in and the female bartender gave us a glare....we asked about food and she said they shut the kitchen down early but one fryer was still open..(it was new years eve..) when she brought out our bill to us we offered her our card and she told us cash only although we were told there were no card minimums (meaning they accept cards)...we paid her in cash and she wasn't very observant as to where we put the money on in the counter and then got an attitude when we asked her for a $5 bill instead of a single for change...when delivering our food she threw it down in front of us...and to top it all off I ordered a swamp water drink and she barely put any vodka in it...not coming...
