So I like to write honest and trustworthy reviews, with the only potential biases being clearly stated at the beginning of the review, if there is to be any! With that said, I will admit I have a soft spot for this place because of their persistent effort to host weekly open mics (thanks to the country music artist Lola Blu) and the opportunity that it gives local musicians a chance to play out. Even without the open mic though, this place deserves any acknowledgement I give it here regardless, just because it's what it is. Now, with that said.. Coaches Corner is a great 'bar & grill', I believe is the correct term, being that they offer cooked-to-order food and craft beverages there. Located at 622 S. State St., Belvidere, IL 61008. Coaches Corner is an ideal place for an outing. Whether it's for a few(or more) cold drinks, or a tasty meal, or to watch the game(s) or play a game(A&E slots) or darts or pinball(& a crane machine with stuffies), there is plenty to do there. On the flip side, if you're just really needing a clean and safe, family-friendly environment away from the noise and bar scene, then there are booths available in there own section with a couple TV sets on standby for use(if desired) in a sit-down restaurant style setting with carpeted floors and sliding wood doors in tandem with a wall separating from the bar area. It's located strait ahead from the main entrance in the building. Bar and seating area with the A&E gaming section located back-center in the bar area(which is to the right when you walk in the main entrance) and a dart station(open mic area on Tuesday evenings after 6pm and scheduled performers on Saturdays) located the left of that. There are pinball machines (4) a single player air-hockey game and a crane machine all located directly left when walking in the entrance(and to the right if your on the way out the main entrance)Lastly for services, Coaches Corner has a conference room big enough to host private parties, political discussions and meetings, fundraisers, BINGO and corporate lunches. Oh, and it's own mini bar area and in-house catering service(with it's own kitchen separated by metal 'kitchen style' push doors) for any event(birthday parties?), with TV's and even a pull down projector screen if need be(power point presentation/ home videos/in memory of, ECT)! Restrooms(located to the left of entrance {walking in} past the pinball machines) are modern looking, spacious, well lit and clean-kept. Even has one of those little straw baskets with restroom amenities(sanitizer wipes and cologne spray) available. Also, it includes a diaper changing area, in-stall and that's just for the guy's restroom! So you can only imagine how nice the women's restroom may be! Don't ask me though lol, don't care to know on that 1! Lastly, the parking lot is a good size for the establishment. More than enough parking space for most day and nights and for particularly busy days or outdoor parking lot parties/events(raffles)/concerts, there is a big ol' municipal parking lot right across the street, plus some designated curbside parking, street-side(State St.). So, there you have it! My most descriptive review yet and I really do mean what I say about the service here: excellent! Great ownership, paired with good management, paired with diligent workers and friendly, customer oriented staff in conjunction with a clean and eventful, modern environment with good products (food and drink and {outsourced}cheesecake!) and lastly, live music no doubt(the only spot in all of Belvidere doing an open-mic night, not just weekly, but period!)! You can't go wrong! Put me...
Read moreEdit 12/21/23. 3 ½* Have visited CC twice now since new ownership. KC burger is back and STACKED. A ½lb burger that gives the impression of being ½lb after cooking. Should be ordered med well. Their lightly battered fries are hot and crispy with a nice new take on a potatoe side. The egg rolls appetizers are hot and crispy but lack flavor to stand on their own. Partnered with the gocho jang sauce which I highly recommend, the appetizer really comes to life. The chicken tenders are excellent. crispy, juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. They too go very well with the gocho jang sauce which is a Korean hot pepper based sauce. It is not too hot that most anyone can enjoy it and not so lame that a chilihead can't find something nice about it. I spoke with the new owners and they seem to have the focus and direction to take CC to the level it was, and beyond. My revised rating system follows. 5/2/24 Tried the specials today. Tacos and pulled pork sandwhiches. This place just keeps getting better and better!!!
2-21-25 I was introduced a couple of weeks ago to the chicken wings and burnt ends. The wings having had such a positive impact led me to place a large order today. I had to opportunity to sample several previously offered tastes and a brand new one. These wings are NOT your standard run of the mill wings. They are meaty, fresh and hot. I ordered a large Cajun dry rub that has an oregano forward taste followed by a cajun heat that appeals to those that like hot while not being overly offensive to those more heat timid and a smokey rub thar while not hot by my standards was equally tasty. I was also treated to their NEW honey habanero rub that was an immediate honey up front followed by the not over powering habanero notes. They also have a newly developed Alabama white sauce the was creamy and uniquely different from the dry rubs but very nice and tasty. Not all chicken wings are created equal and these are that proof. I could have sat there and ate these for hours. Try them tonight!
*Garbage, dont waste your time. ** OK if your just looking for a bite.
Went there for lunch with my fiancé. First time trying the new place out since it was changed from being Bush Gardens. Ordered the Nachos, some soup, and a few drinks. The soup was brought out quickly and was delish. The drinks were spot in and also very good. How ever the nacho ceased to impress either one of us. They were pretty pricey the toppings were skimpy and there was a ton of chips. The end we ended up eating mostly just plain chips because there was so little topping. The service and the waitress was great I can’t recall the waitresses name but she was extremely friendly always smiling and right on top of things. Only gave it three stars because the nachos were so skimpy it was a complete disappointment when it came to the nachos. Especially when the waitress built the nachos up and made it seem like they were so amazing. I could easily make way better nachos myself with products from the Family Dollar, or Dollar General. If you’re looking for a good place for drinks then I would consider this but when it comes to the food I’m not so sure, I think I might give it one more try. Burgers look really good I might have to try them maybe the nachos is just the one thing not to order. I will make a follow-up review when I find out how the...
