Doty Park — Attraction in Belvidere Township

I'm not sure as to why, but this has become my children's requested park to visit. The play areas are nice, as is having a bathroom close by. The location is enjoyable on the river, near ice cream shops, and easily accessible. The biggest complaint I have is with the loud, and sometimes aggressive teenagers that seem to hang out there. There have been times when they've taken over the playground equipment, chucking skateboards on it, etc, forbidding the young children...

This kids park is a lot of fun with multiple climbing structures and a great merry-go-round. It has a handicapable swing but no accessible way to get to it unless you carry your child to it if they are wheelchair users. I liked that is had a covered picnic tables to get a break from the sun. Doty park is a summer staple. Splash pad is free and there are bathrooms available. They just put in a new playground last year and it's wonderful! There is also a covered area with picnic tables, small walking path and 2 ice cream shops nearby. There is a bridge you can cross to walk to Belvidere Park where there are additional paths to walk, playgrounds and more...
