This museum is bigger than you think! Boone County Historical Museum has a unique collection of local history and national history. The exhibits change from time to time so make sure you visit more than once. There is no fee for admission but accept voluntary donations to support the museum. We hosted a holiday party at the museum this evening and the event was a success. It is a unique place to rent for a private event. Highly recommend!

Held a celebration of life here for my family, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Definitely recommend this place for any type of get-together you may have. They accommodated us with sll our needs and made us feel very welcome. Will be looking to use the space again in the future. Rental of the hall also gives you and your guests Museum access to enjoy the exhibits. Plenty of cool things to see in the history of Boone County.

It was a great experience. A portion of the museum was dedicated to one of my relatives who founded the National Sewing Machine Co. Later, it was sold to Singer. Also made a roundabout car, and washing machine.

This is a hidden gem in Belvidere, illinois. There's a great collection of local history and significant regional historical events that have influenced the area over the years.
