First let me say, Charles is an awesome person. I had never been to a Tropical Smoothie Cafe and I took my daughter today. Charles was working hard when we walked in. (Other employees were playing around in the back.) Charles was very patient with me as I tried figuring out the App and ordering. (Thanks Charles!) My daughter and I were the only ones in the store at the time and then 4 others walked in. Charles looked a little flustered but kept going strong while the other employees were still playing around in the back. I want to say the manager was popping bubble wrap! Poor Charles asked for help from one of the employees and it took her (key holder) at least 5 minutes to come out and help. As Charles started working on our orders the other employee (key holder) kept rolling her eyes at Charles as he was trying to work on orders. Needless to say after almost 15 minutes, we got our drink orders and a smile from Charles!
Now as a person who has been in food service management before, I am shocked at the conduct of the manager and the key holder. How can you get upset with someone who asked for help and then make it all out to be his fault with your eye rolls and oh yeah still sitting in the back popping bubble wrap?! I get that FedEx just dropped 4 boxes off to you but drop what you're doing and help!
Poor Charles. We wrote a note and stuck it in the bucket. Way to go Charles for making us smile!
Unfortunately we won't be back to get another smile from Charles. But I hope Charles keeps smiling and keeps...
Read moreI have been coming here to get the Peanut Butter Cup smoothie for several years now and I give it 3 stars because their smoothies are good! However, since Covid, they have changed their phone system and a person is no longer available to speak with over the phone. Everything is "press this number to receive a text on how to order". I understand not taking orders over the phone BUTTTTT you should still answer the phone!! Sure have the automated voice say "we cannot accept orders over the phone" but then have an actual staff member answer the phone for any other questions. It's become a serious pain when I have to unload my child to go into the store to get a smoothie only to find out that they are out of something (usually chocolate) and than load my child back into the car WITHOUT A SMOOTHIE! This is ridiculous as I have loved this place for so long and I would've known when they were unable to make my order if they set it up where an employee can answer the phone for...
Read moreIf I could rate "0" stars for the customer service I received this morning, I most definitely would. I walked up to place an order & after a few moments, a male employee opened the door & said "what did you order?" I informed him that I wanted to place an order & he said that if I called, I could place an order. Now why would I have to call to place the order if I'm standing in front of you talking to you. I made him aware that I did not have my cell phone with me. He proceeded to ask "what do you want?" After realizing great customer service didnt exist there, I told him my order. He asked for a card & I told him I was paying with cash. He then said, "We're not taking cash. We're only accepting cards." Not only wa his tone, delivery, & attitude one of an employee that obviously did not want to work today. He lacked the most important tool required to deal with the public, customer service. If you don't want to deal with the public, leave the customer service Jobs to...
