I wanted to place an order for delivery last Friday. The restaurant wasn't listed in Doordash anymore, so I called to ask if they still offered delivery.
The employee who answered the phone struggled to understand and answer my questions, and their answer boiled down to "I don't know." There was no attempt to find out or ask a manager. He suggested I place a delivery order on the website.
The website is awful. I looked up the location but the site didn't specify whether delivery was available. The site was, for some reason, very slow, and difficult to navigate. You can only order six items, but you aren't informed of this until you try to add another. I placed an order for pickup as the site and the store both couldn't confirm whether delivery was available.
We ordered four sandwiches and two personal pizzas. This location doesn't make the pizzas - so why are they available on the ordering menu? Instead they made us two identical cold footlong subs with pepperoni, provolone, and slices of mozzarella cheese to replace the one pepperoni and one plain cheese pizza. The two kids who were expecting personal pizzas were very upset. Two of the sandwiches were made as ordered, and two were missing ingredients that had been requested while also having extra ingredients that hadn't been requested.
This is one of my kids' favorite local restaurants, but every order I place when not in person turns out wrong. There's no communication from the store when they have questions or changes on an order, and they don't know if they offer delivery or ever will again.
I'll just make my own subs at home or go to one of the several places in town that make excellent ones - Martin's and the Benmont store are consistently great. I just wish it was possible to get good subs, made to order, delivered in a timely manner...
Read moreI visited your Bennington location today for lunch on my way to my sister’s home in NY all the way from NH. Both my mother and I purchased subs, drinks, and cookies to eat when we reached our destination.
We stopped at another store for a few minutes at which time I began to need the restroom. I must preface this by saying I have the medical condition Irritible Bowel Syndrome or IBS, which means when I’m having an attack I need a bathroom IMMEDIATELY. The store we were in didn’t have a bathroom, so we went across the street to the drugstore. They didn’t have a bathroom.
At this point things were getting desperate. I was not sure I would make it anywhere further, so we went back to Subway where I knew there was a bethroom. The employee working the register GLARED at me as I practically ran to the bathroom.
When I came out, she stopped me. In a very rude tone, she informed me that the bathroom was for customers only. I understood, so I reminded her that I had bought a sub less than 30 minutes prior. You’re not a customer now, she informed me snottily.
Stunned, I simply left. I was shocked by how rudely she had acted. I would happily have shown her my receipt if she hadn’t recognized me. Or, if she had mentioned it to me in a polite way, I would have apologized and purchased another drink. I was just so surprised at being treated this way when I have a medical condition I can not control and I had been there less than 30 minutes prior.
I have never been treated so rudely in any other Subway. I will never return to this location and will warn all my friends in the area...
Read moreIf I could give one employee no stars I would. “Kristen” at the Bennington Subway treated her employee James terribly! The behavior I witnessed today was appalling & completely unacceptable. Myself as well as at least 10 others witnessed her throw a 6 inch sub at the wall because it wasn’t cut correctly she then yelled at James and said “If you can’t cut bread right ask someone, don’t waste my bread”. Followed by her telling him “it’s common sense which is something you’re lacking” regarding a mistake he made. This poor kid was doing his absolute best and in return received nothing but verbal abuse from this poor excuse of a “boss”. Not to mention the way she spoke to a customer who didn’t hear her say something was just as appalling, you don’t need to scream at someone simply because they weren’t paying attention/ couldn’t hear you.. and to top it all off after returning to work we realized Kristen messed up my co workers sandwich.. And we will be...
