This review is strictly about the Chinese food. This restaurant can very much compete head to head against Philadelphia's Chinatown or Washington Street.
The decor and ambiance reminds me of no other similar restaurant because the tables are not squeezed in. There is room to walk and be socially distant. The finish of the restaurant is on par with the older restaurants in Chinatown except everything is new, built well and kept immaculately clean.
The real purpose though is to eat. This is my first time here and I decided to try one of the lunch specials. I got the hot tea which came out at a perfect temperature. It was potent but didn't burn me at first sip. I drank it throughout my meal.
I ordered the hot and spicy chicken with pork fried rice and hot and sour soup. The soup arrived first served with some crispy noodles and duck sauce. I thought it might have been too watery but the flavor was wonderful. There was a spice to it that is usually missing from most versions I've had of this soup. It was fresh and I finished it to the bottom of the bowl.
While having the soup, the chicken and rice came. It was a clean presentation on the plate. I started with some of the mixed vegetables and was impressed by the bite into it. It was crisp and fresh. The sauce and seasoning again were great. The chicken was very tender and went well with the rice. They should try and hold on to the chef(s) for as long as they can.
I shall absolutely return to Golden 1. It surprised me because I was expecting a typical mediocre local Chinese fast food shop but was treated to great service, ambiance and food.

I came by today to try some of the Japanese dishes. I haven't tried the sushi here yet but I will come by again to try it out.
I'll compare it to other spots but will tell you right away that it was not that great. I had the seaweed salad and pork tonkatsu ramen soup.
The seaweed salad looks good. The presentation was nice. It however is something I could have just as well picked up at H-Mart. I have a feeling that it is not made in store. It needed a bit more sesame flavoring. Topping it with sesame seeds before coming out to the table would have helped.
The tonkatsu ramen had an okay presentation. I could tell that there was sliced pork in it but everything else was hidden. I had to search the bowl to figure out what was in the soup. Some of the vegetables such as broccoli are not typical in my own experience. Also the cut of the vegetables was more for a Chinese stir fry. All of the vegetables were fresh. The broth however was definitely lacking and it didn't infuse its typical strong flavor into the vegetables. The sliced pork was also either a little too thick or just not tender enough. There was also an egg but as you can see it is a hard boiled egg. It was not a soft boiled egg marinated in soy sauce. This was a missed opportunity to add flavor to this soup.

The only other main cuisine I had not yet tried here was the sushi. I came in and had the 3 roll sushi lunch special. Rolls are not the best indicator of sushi quality so keep that in mind.
I had the 3 roll lunch special. I selected the Philly Roll, Salmon Avocado and Spicy Tuna. They were presented well and visually appealing. They were great to eat at well. The texture and size were consistent. It was very fresh.
My only disappointment however was the wasabi. It added to the sushi but was missing the kick...
Read moreI had lunch at Golden 1 Restaurant with my family and we were very impressed by their food and service. The restaurant is located in the Neshaminy Mall and serves Asian fusion cuisine. We ordered the fried shrimp dumplings, plain lo mein, the chicken with cashew nuts, and the beef with vegetables. The portions were generous and the food was fresh and flavorful. The presentation was also very appealing and appetizing. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They greeted us warmly when we arrived and seated us promptly. They checked on us frequently and refilled our drinks without us asking. They also gave us complimentary fortune cookies and strawberry dessert at the end of our meal. They were very professional . The price was reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. We really enjoyed our lunch at Golden 1 Restaurant and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Asian fusion cuisine. It is one of the best restaurants in the area and we can’t wait to go back again. We tried the sesame shrimps, , chicken noodle soup in our last visit and both...
Read moreGreat restaurant with a lot of choices. Between my father, husband and myself, we tried a bunch of different items. For appetizers we had crab rangoon and a yummy yummy roll. The crab rangoon was formed into cute little shapes and was delicious. The yummy yummy roll was shrimp tempura with cream cheese inside and salmon on the outside. My father who isn't a big fan of sushi thought it was excellent and I had to agree! We all had wonton soup which was very good, although the wontons were a tad chewy. After appetizers and soup I didn't have much room left for my entree which was chicken and green beans. Had that today for lunch and it was still delicious. We've ordered from Golden 1 in the past and have always been happy with our order. They usually throw in a complimentary dessert. I think this is when we spend a certain amount of cash. Last night was the first time we actually ate in the restaurant. It was about 5:30 on Friday night and there were a few tables seated but they were not crowded. Service was quick and the waitress was friendly....
