First things first, do not go here. This is a corporate restaurant and if other haciendas are similar to this location then I imagine that they have one or two years left in business before they cash out. Nothing about this place was enjoyable and the reason why I'm being so harsh is because two meals and two sodie pops will run you fifty eight so it's not even cheap.
First of all, the menu is way over complicated and difficult to order from. You won't be able to decide what you want because it's purposely designed to be confusing. The part of the menu that is easy to order from and comprehendible is of course the more expensive fajita section (where they would prefer you order).
Secondly, the food itself. My partner didn't even get the right food. She ordered off the vegetarian menu and it seems like they gave her whatever they wanted cause it had beef in the tacos. My food was a mess of brown sauce comparable to A1 steak sauce. On a separate plate I was given a tostada which is supposed to be a crispy fried corn tortilla topped with whatever you want, but If you tried to hold it in your hand you would have thought it was a raw floppy tortilla it was so soggy. It had definitely been made before I ordered it, based off my culinary experience I would bet my paycheck that it was sitting for an hour or so. It was floppy as soon as it arrived to my table.
My partner and I both felt sick after eating what little was actually edible (I had a tamale and some rice). I had to lay down and keep myself from throwing up with a bucket close by. It was an awful and embarrassing experience.
The atmosphere was okay, except there was no music. Some played for a minute before the speakers died for the duration of my meal. Seems weird that a corporate restaurant can't shell out enough money for a speaker.
It was so quiet actually I could hear the kitchen HAMMER the dinner bell constantly every two minutes. It's clear to me that the kitchen has no trust that the front of house will come run their food when they have a chance. It's a small restaurant train your staff to walk in the kitchen occasionally and take the bell away from expo.
I'm upset about the price of course, I'm upset about the food, I'm upset about the food poisoning, I'm upset that this restaurant has a 4.4 rating on Google, but mostly I'm upset because I'm never going to get the time I spent here back. Waste of my day off. Waste of a dinner and a disgrace to Mexican/Spanish...
Read moreWe found La Hacienda on Google because we were going 10 miles to a movie and were looking for a new place. The restaurant is very colorful and festive with ethnic music, furniture and surroundings. We were both going to get the Fajitas (for 2) but my wife decided to order the Rib Eye Steak plate. The Fajitas were excellent with a bountiful portion and side plate of Rice, Beans, Rice, Guacamole and something that looked like sour cream and lettuce. The Steak Platter however was as I had warned her Small, very thin, tough, with grizzle and she wished she had ordered the Fajitas. The service was friendly and fairly quick even though at 8:00pm they still had folks waiting for a table. The Sangria was very good and they start you off with a carafe of Salsa and chips. We were asked how everything was when we paid the bill and the manager responded positively and adjusted the bill to accommodate and request we return and give them another tasting. He also asked if I was a Veteran (since I was wearing a US Navy shirt and paid with a USAA Credit Card) having responded Yes... he offered 10% discount on our subsequent visits... Thank You for your Support!!! I will return and try some of the other 100 items on the menu. I would have given 5 stars (if I give Them a pass for ordering Rib Eye in a Hacienda) but I Did notice that pasted on their PA License on the wall over the cash register is not a Dollar Bill but a 20 Peso note... so the extra star hit the Trash. We are in the USA and pay with Dollars and the message coming from that post left me puzzled...
Read moreI'm going to start by saying I have faithfully ordered from this restaurant over the past 5yrs living in bensalem. Today I called & asked for a large order of chips & salsa, I was told 5 mins it would be ready & it would cost $12.50. Which is a reasonable price for something they give away to you when u eat in at the restaurant. I go there to pick it up 7 mins later & was about to pay when I realized the lady who was ringing me up tried to charge me $18? I immediately bring up the $6 difference in price from what I was told on the phone. She just stands there looking confused when I'm pretty certain she was the one that told me $12.50 on the phone in the first place. Then she proceeds to ask me do I want it or not? I Said not if it was 12.50 on the phone & now its $18 dollars? I told her I'll drive up the road & pay that somewhere else for it which is exactly what I'm doing Don Mezcal $13.65, which I enjoy alot more than here anyway, its just a bit further from me. I will never, I promise Never, give this business a penny of my money with shady practices going on like this there! I'm almost certain she tried to charge me as if I ordered thru doordash or some other internet site, which I didn't, I ordered over the phone. Horrible! So disappointed how this was handled! Good luck going here! Pay attention to what u are being...
