Most of my experiences with McDonalds happens in the drive through. As such, I get anxiety sitting in a single lane drive through because I am always waiting for a car behind me to whip out and pass me and cut into the second drive through speak lane. I love the Benson location because they actually block that from happening by having cones that will not allow you to cut in front of the line. That being said, we went there and the guy in the window was crazy rude. My wife was driving and anytime he handed her something she said "thank you" and he said nothing. He never once talked to us or even acknowledged us in any way. It was like he was a rude robot. Even at the end when my wife said thank you so much he just closed the window. While I pick this location almost always for the lack of anxiety I get from the drive through....the customer service is some of the worst I have experienced in the fast food world. At least acknowledge when somebody says thank you. Do better McDonalds in Benson!
Update.....went again tonight and after ordering I sat in line for over 20 minutes with only 4 cars in front of me. Pro tip ...leave space between you and the car in front of you so you can leave whenever you want. I did not do that so I was stuck in a fast food drive through for over 20 minutes ....I can get food from a real restaurant in that amount of time without getting frozen burgers. This location continues to go down hill from what it was a year ago....argh....no other locations to find this close so I guess a new business all together is...
Read moreThe McGee's Crossroad McDonalds is our closest restaurant. We have had our ups and downs but fairly consistent service and quality despite worker shortages. However our recent visit was so exasperating I am not sure we will be back. We went to order on a Tuesday night around 6pm. The line was moderate. Inside was open. We ordered three combos by number and size. The employee taking our order would repeat our combo number and then repeat back (and put up on the screen) the wrong item. We had to start over twice. Finally on the third attempt, the employee had our correct order on the screen, but when we picked up our order, instead of a Big Mac we received a Quarter Pounder w/cheese. The chicken sandwich included was so cold and overcooked that it was barely chewable. One of the things that really stood out was the obvious attitude of the employee when we tried to get them to correct the items. Also, am so over when you go the the window to pay and they only mention one of your items. Just repeat back the order, okay? They end up doing that anyway when the customer gets confused because it sounds like you only ordered one thing. The two seconds saved isn't cost effective. Having been in customer service for years and overworked and underpaid, I get it. But it won't earn...
Read moreUPDATE 7/28: DO NOT DO TO THIS LOCATION!!! GO UP TO 40/42. I decided to give this location ANOTHER chance and they failed in multiple ways. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese Bagel and they didn't put bacon on it, a sweet tea that you can see through and taste like pee water with no sugar, and a hashbrown that was literally soggy. I took my order back in and nicely asked for a refund. They DENIED me a refund. Told me the store manager will not allow refunds??? Are you freaking kidding me?? The would replace my order. Ok, but the sweet tea is the same in the whole store. I WILL NEVER EVER BE BACK TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN! Update a couple years later: I go out of my way to NOT go to this McDonald's. The service is HORRIBLE! Especially in the morning. The employees look miserable and have a terrible attitude. Their tea SUCKS!!! They obviously do not go by the recipe bc their tea is always watered down and just nasty. If you're going 40 East, I recommend stopping at the Newton Grove McDonald's. They gave been great so far.
This is one of my favorite McDonald's, they are fast 95% of the time, the food is always fresh, and they are always nice. I go out of my way to come to this one rather...
