Dine-in, just my husband and I on a Sunday evening. One couple already eating, two gentlemen (both deaf, communicating with the counter by typing on their phones) we're ordering when we walked in. The drive through was a little busy but it was moving.
We order two simple meals at 6:54pm. Went over to fill up our drinks and the ice machine had broken and was making a huge mess in front of the drink station. You couldn't get your straw or lid without splashing water on the floor and the counter. There were no napkins at the station. Two wet floor signs were out but no employees were attempting to do anything else, and didn't bother telling us when we ordered to be careful or let them know if we needed ice from behind the counter or anything like that.
5 minute wait... 10 minute wait... Look over at the gentlemen who ordered before us to see if they had received food. Nothing.
I go up to the counter at 7:10 and a different employee takes a couple of minutes to find out from the back where our order is. I also told him the guys in front of us hadn't received their food either. He asks the kitchen where the dine in food is, doesn't like the response he got (I couldn't hear what they said.) so he tells them to get on our food first. He walks to me and says, "They are making it now." We received our order at 7:14. Our food was okay...hot but not the best quality. I had asked for Cole slaw but received extra fries instead (the slaw was listed on our ticket.). My toast was burned. My husband wanted more to drink since he had just about finished it in the time we waited for the food. The machine was out of Coke and still an absolute mess. Water all over the floor, counter, splashing forcibly from the machine.
I fully expected the other guys to have theirs soon after us. Nope! One of them went back to the counter TWICE to ask! It was 7:26 before they received their food. And the guy at the counter hollered the name twice. Remember they are deaf. And after waiting 30 minutes, you bring it out to their table with a discount! So, I hear the name being called and wave from across the restaurant (just us three groups still in the dining room, no one else) to get their attention.
This restaurant has been having issues here and there for awhile now but the food is very good and generally, it's certain shifts you just avoid or know not to go when you are starving. I think our experience tonight is the straw that broke the camel's back. It's just not worth the aggravation. We won't be going back to this Zaxby's until we hear things have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family of 7 dined in at the Benton location this afternoon, 6/16/23. While standing in line to order a young lady was taking orders at the register. A male worker by the name of Chris was in the lobby walking back into the behind the counter area after he punched the wall of shoved the door open acting erratic. I ask the girl what was his problem, that he had no business acting like that in front of customers. She said he was mad at her and I told her that no excuse for that behavior!! After ordering my family was trying to get our drinks and was almost done when Chris called my name up front that my order was ready. Standing at the drink dispenser I said, me.... just one second, as I helped my 5 children get their drinks. He said my name again and I said just a second as he should of seen I had my hands full! He huffed and puffed, my oldest son went up and was able to grab one of the trays but not the second one. As soon as my son turned his back, Chris started waving his arms, continuing to huff and puff, talking under his breath. I walked up and grabbed the other tray and before I could say anything he stormed off. Chris has a very short fuse that I'm afraid is going to get a customer or employee hurt. Please do something about this before...

**I rated a 3 only because the food was hot and for the most part fresh... However when I went through the drive thru to make an order! real simple order!! I still got rung up for the wrong items I asked for two individual nibblers somehow I was still rang up for 3!! So lets Fast forward to the pick-up window when I get there I wanted to add on a cookie the cashier GIRL acted like it was a problem to add it on (1st turn off) secondly I received the items I ordered and asked for 2 ketchup packets only 2!!! Once again she acts as if its a problem to turn around and grab 2 ketchup packets (2nd turnoff)!!! so before anything else decided to pop off I proceeded to politley leave the restaurant with out being told thanks for coming" or thanks for ordering at zaxbys" if I didn't have to go to work I would have went inside with my problems...
