Taco Bueno — Restaurant in Benton

I placed my order online and picked it up in the restaurant.

I arrived early and used the facilities. They were clean, but there was a slight smell coming from the drain. Perhaps the drain trap needed a bit of water added to seal it off, but it was not as bad as some other places I've been in.

The customer service was great!! There were four employees and I had communication with all four, including the manager.

The young man handed me a small cup, but the gal on the line caught it and he corrected the error and changed it for the medium drink cup I ordered.

The drink station was clean, as was the salsa bar.

I ordered a taco salad. Whew, it was strong with the onions and VERY salty. The meat was dry and just kinda there. I can't say it added any particular flavor to the salad. There were no beans, but a healthy amount of guacamole and sour cream. The flour bowl was tasty and the best part of the salad. It was firm, crispy and had a good taste.

Worker going on break held the door open for us going in. Then we stood....and stood. The person making food looked directly at us, girl at drive through walked back and forth several times, neither bothered to acknowledge us or say they were short staffed and would be right with us. Meanwhile, to my right, on the counter was the bucket of dirty cleaning water just left there, yes, where they slide your food across the counter. Finally, nice lady came back from break. Then 2-3 minutes later, unapologetically, and knowing she had a full 15 minute break, she took our orders. Food was good. It was passed on the counter opposite the dirty water...

They only had two employees working that I could see. They were filling two really large orders so I waited at the counter probably 5 minutes. I had to ask the girl to repeat herself several times because of her mask...I have hearing loss and if employees wearing masks don't raise their voice louder than normal then it's very difficult to understand what they are saying. My chips were a little stale, but the rest of my food was good. We don't have Taco Bueno where I live and I have enjoyed it the few times I've eaten at one. My advice....make sure there are always enough employees on hand and train them to speak louder if they are forced...
