Regrettably, the Hot Sake, initially served at room temperature, was later discovered to have been hastily microwaved for 40 seconds—a practice generally discouraged for such a delicate libation. It is imperative to note that microwaving Sake is an unconventional and inappropriate method. The Chirashi bowl, alas, proved less than appealing, characterized by pieces of fish inexpertly cut, diminutive in size, and seemingly haphazardly arranged atop a bed of sushi rice. Despite the menu's assertion of seasoned rice, the actuality fell short of this declaration.
In addition, the presentation of the Hibachi dinner left much to be desired, featuring rubbery textures in both the chicken and scallops. Furthermore, the optional fried rice, at an extra cost of $3.45, arrived cold. Although the waiter obligingly replaced the rice, the overall dining experience remained far from gratifying. Noticing our discontented expressions and largely untouched plates, the attentive waiter earnestly inquired about our concerns, encouraging honesty in our feedback. While we conveyed our dissatisfaction with the Sake and Chirashi bowl, we refrained from detailing our disappointment with the Hibachi meal.
Subsequently, the waiter promptly conveyed our concerns to the manager, who engaged in a discussion while we settled the bill. As the manager approached the checkout counter, acknowledging our grievances, a gesture of goodwill in the form of a gift card was proffered. However, given the extent of our dissatisfaction, it appears unlikely that we would avail ourselves of such an offering, contemplating a future return to the establishment with a degree...
Read moreI was a frequent customer for over seven years until my recent experience. I picked up my order as usual but this time the lobster had a weird taste, the texture wasn't firm chewable instead it felt more like I was eating a baked potato. I immediately contacted the restaurant and eventually spoke with the owner Brenda in hopes to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, a civil conversation could not be had because she became defensive and mean. I asked if she was calling me a lier? She said no but continued her rant about how fresh her lobsters were. The next morning we met to resolve the issue, this tiny woman was so rude and unprofessional even after she saw how mushy the lobster was. I took deep breaths and suggested she choose her words wisely and to lower her voice. At this point I requested a refund because I was done; she refused but had the cook redo my order. Problem solved. This simple solution could have been done in the beginning if she didn't have such a nasty...
Read moreFirst thing walking in....you don't feel the welcoming AC in the midst of an Arkansas July. Frankly, it's very stuffy....along with the western sun, the very large grills, and not to mention the hibachi area. I've personally asked the owner to turn the AC down and he essentially ignored the request.
The overall cleanliness of the place seems to be declining....just about ever ceiling tile is yellowed and dingy.
The sushi has always been my favorite, but times have changed. The food quality has declined and the sushi is akin to he quality one would find on an 'all you can eat' buffet.....it used to be premium, but looks like the owner has become so tight or strapped it reflects in the overall experience.
Sakuras was, at one time....our family's absolutely favorite restaurant- that was then, this is now.
Over the years I've dropped some serious 'coin' for special occasions, birthdays, business, and date nights.
Disappointing.....probably my...
