If I could give zero stars I would, this was hands down the worst experience I have ever had a restaurant. We came in, there weren’t many people there, and employees standing around everywhere talking, it took them 5 minutes to even realize we were there and get us seated. The waitress (Cali I think) came over and took our drink order, we ordered and also asked for 2 waters) 15 minutes later she brings our drinks, but no waters. So I ask for our water when she takes our order. When we ordered we asked for our appetizer first, and then order our food. 10 minutes goes by and I see her walk by again so I ask for our water and FINALLY she brings it. 30 minutes later we get our food, she forgot to put in for our appetizer. I say forget it, I don’t want to wait for it. My salad came with no dressing, I had to ask for it (I only ordered a salad) that took another 10 minutes after I asked for my dressing. I order a hog island drink, she brings it over, but it was literally all sprite. I get this drink every time I come to gusanos, and this tasted like mostly sprite, no alcohol at all, I paid $7.00 for sprite. Great. My salad was not great (usually is amazing) and my husbands sandwich was mostly cold and didn’t have any marinara like it was supposed to, the best part of our meal was the water that we had to ask for multiple times. I don’t understand how the service and food could be so bad with 10 employees on the clock and all standing around chatting instead of working. I will not be going back to this location. 10/10 definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND. Save yourself the time, the money, and the hassle. Worst food and customer service I’ve...
Read moreWe stopped at Gusano's for lunch and I was excited to have the Chicago style pizza. The interior of the building definitely had a Chicago pizza joint feel, and I appreciated the memorabilia (except where are my WHITE SOX being represented??????). When I got over the offense of not seeing any White Sox paraphernalia, I ordered the Chicago style cheese pizza, my daughter ordered the thin crust (she's dead to me) Margherita Pizza and my friend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. Our waitress has been there a long time, was really nice, very helpful and incredibly efficient despite having a lot of tables to serve. Our food came out quickly. The spaghetti and meatballs was tasty enough that my friend ate every last bite (although she is not Chicago, so don't hold me on that one), my daughter's thin crust looked very good and, while my cheese pizza did taste really good, it was a strange, almost soupy dish. The crust went really high above the rest, and so overall it was definitely not a true Chicago pizza. However, it tasted really, really good and I ended up not really caring that it wasn't as authentic as it might have been. Then, I tried a bite of the margherita thin crust pizza and had to re-claim my daughter, because it was insanely good. So, all in all, we really enjoyed our lunch and would definitely go back. However, if you love the White Sox you might help me start a petition to get some representation up in...
Read moreNot terribly impressive. We generally eat at Mellow Mushroom when we're in Northwest Arkansas but we were closer to Gusano's this time so we gave it a shot. In hindsight, I think I'd rather have driven the 40 miles round-trip to Mellow Mushroom.
My wife has several food allergies and so eats the gluten free crust when we go out, provided it doesn't have some other ingredients in it as well. This crust was ok for her to eat so she ordered it, and it came out an abomination of a "pizza". My 11 year old son laughed because I said it looked like a burnt Frisbee. Maybe roughly half of the surface area was covered in a topping or w cheese. The remaining half looked like burnt cardboard. Service was ok. Wings were ok, nothing special or worthy of more than a brief mention. Total cost was duuuumb. My son and I shared the 12" deep dish pizza and we had some eings and a g free pizza... NO alcohol or any other drinks... and we somehow spent $62. The deep dish was (somehow) not very hot when it came out but tasted pretty darn good, and is the source of the two stars rating.
I will say that I've eaten at the Gusano's in downtown Little Rock before and recall being pretty happy with it. Maybe just this location? We legitimately went to Mellow Mushroom in Fayetteville the next day for lunch to scratch our pizza...
