El Carreton — Restaurant in Berne

Ate dinner with the family here tonight. My brother was eating tortilla shells when we saw mold on one. He had already ate the other two shells. When we confronted the manager about it he informed me it was mold and he would take care of it and refund our price for that meal. When we received the bill the price was still on the bill. I again spoke with the manager where he informed me that since my brother ate almost all of the meal he wasn’t taking the price off. He got a piece of mine and my mother’s mind along with everyone in the restaurant hearing about it he finally took off the price of the meal. All while he is saying “it’s only one tortilla” with MOLD!! Will not be returning here. Check your food before...

We have experienced wonderful and excellent service and have experienced okay service. Lately it has been good and enjoyed our service and food. The food is your normal more Americanized Mexican food. They offer chips and salsa like many other places. What I seem to notice most about their salsa no matter who makes it is that it's fresh (not canned salsa) and I usually notice the cilantro which I personally love. 😍 Every now and then we experience our food being overly salted. We aren't sure why other than maybe who is cooking. How ever the two times we went in November it was fine and the service was great or good.

The man who waited on us was very welcoming, although I do believe there was some communication problems there on his part. The place itself was warm and beautiful inside. However, my meal was very off. I said I didn't want chicken and part of my dinner was shredded chicken. I ordered all ground beef and I swear , I couldn't identify anything that was on my plate. It all swam together in grease and it tasted worse. My husband and I were very dissapointed. He ordered a taco salad and it looked like a bunch of bland lettuce. He said it wasn't great.
