This place used to be my favorite breakfast restaurant in Nashville… unfortunately that changed today.
THE EXPERIENCE: They used to provide a great experience top to bottom, ask you a quirky question to call your food out, have affordable coffee and delicious food. Today we waited NEARLY AN HOUR for our food. The line at the front went quickly so we assumed we would get served in a timely fashion. The restaurant cleared out and it STILL took them another half hour to get any food out.
We went up to check in about 40 minutes into the wait, very kindly, giving them plenty of grace and the cashier was impatient and straight up ignored us talking to them and didn’t even look up at us standing right in front of them. Only the manager even acknowledged us. Granted, everyone working looked extremely stressed so something was clearly off today with the team and responsibilities. We continued waiting patiently understanding that it is a Saturday afternoon, however, we had to take the food to-go because we had to get to work.
THE GOOD NEWS: The food was FANTASTIC. As always, their biscuits are some of the best I’ve ever had and their chicken and waffles were delicious.
On our way out a team member (I believe it was a manager) acknowledged our experience and the inconvenience it caused us and attempted to make it right by giving us a couple vouchers for a discount our next visit. This gesture was thoroughly appreciated and helped mitigate the bad taste left in our mouth.
Props to the manager who made it right for us because I love Maple Street and bring friends here frequently. Also, glad to see the quality of the food didn’t suffer along with the service. Hopefully this was a one-off situation that won’t be repeated :). We will be back for...
Read moreAfter seeing that the breakfast spot we wanted to go to was too crowded, my wife and I settled on this place we had never been before to try something a little different. My wife decided on The Farmer biscuit (applewood bacon, apple butter, fried chicken and cheddar cheese). I went for The Sticky Maple (fried chicken, applewood bacon with maple syrup). We also ordered a side of Potatoes O’Ryan. Part of their vibe is that when you order, they have a different question every day to ask and your answer will be what they use to call when your order is ready. Today you gave them the name of your teenage crush. The price was a little more than what I prefer to spend on breakfast for 2 (around $30) but the portions were generous and probably in line with a place like First Watch. First, the food was very good and the presentation was well done. The venue gave a rustic farm vibe which I liked and the employees were very friendly and the food came out hot and within 15 minutes of ordering. The potatoes were nicely seasoned and were flavorful. If I had one complaint, mine was pretty overwhelming on the sweet side with all the maple syrup. I had a feeling about this as I was ordering which is why I asked to have the syrup on the side. Unfortunately, it did not come out that way but I just ate it as it was served. All in all, good food, great atmosphere and very...
Read moreWe were a party of 4 adults and were headed back home after an awesome weekend of fun, great music, and subpar food. We were just going to do Cracker Barrel because we were afraid of having another bad food experience. We decided to give it a go and so GLAD we did. The customer service rivaled chic-fil-a and Publix…it was awesome! The name for your order is your first job and they will shout that name out to pick up your order. For example “Order up for Customer Service Rep”…loved it!
The ambiance was a mix of another broken egg, Moe’s Southwest Grill, with Hobby Lobby Christian country music. It is a community atmosphere and they even have community rules posted on the table reminding you to buss your own table and be kind to the community leaders (employees). All of the community leaders were friendly and helpful.
The chicken was crispy, a nice heat to the batter, and well seasoned. The biscuits tastes like a flaky homemade country biscuit. The fried green tomatoes were good and seasoned with the same batter as the chicken. The waffles were fluffy, the peach iced tea was AMAZING, and the vanilla latte was VERY good. We loved they had a vegetarian friendly option for gravy with mushrooms and it was well seasoned. The bread pudding was light and not too sweet. ONLY, negative thing I would say is our potatoes were cold.
We will...
